How difficult would it be to replace Saitek Rudder pots with Hall Sensors?

Hi,

 

I'm not usually one to post stuff without any research but I wouldn't really know where to start with this, my electronics skills are severely lacking!

 

While I'm more than happy with my recent purchase, I feel the pots in the Saitek Combat Rudder pedals are letting me down. I know my way around a Soldering Iron... ;) So how hard would it be to swap out the crappy pots for some Hall Sensor action?

The electronics part should be fairly straight forward it's the mecanical instalation that may present the chalenge, in anycase it probably won't be hard to do with a little "smart" thinking.
