I have two DCS user accounts that belong to me, and were purchased under the same email.

My two accounts have the same UID! Is this expected? The Transaction & Serial Numbers are different.

I have a text file of all purchases with both the Transaction Number and the Serial Number for both of my client IDs - Wrecking Crew & Jette, and for another gift account for another person.

Tonight I realize, through experimenting with the Slmod BannedClients.lua, that both Wrecking Crew and Jette have the same UID.

How do I resolve this such that WC and Jette have their own UIDs? Both accounts can log into the same DCS server simultaneously.

I have an Slmod Chat Log that shows that both WC and Jette UIDs are the same, but it contains private UID info that I won't post publicly.

Are UID's associated by email account? My friend's gifted purchases were for his email, and his UID is different from my two.

I would have not known this but for my experiments with Slmod. I have never received a copy of my UID from DCS.

Did you buy a module on your account, and then give the serial number to Jette? Without logging into digitalcombatsimulator.com, when I try to buy a module, I get this:

To purchase the products, please, enter your login and password (the fields on the left).

If you do not have login and password, please, register on our site.

As I understand it, UCIDs are tied to your digitalcombatsimulator.com account. Not sure how your activations and digitalcombatsimulator.com accounts are supposed to tie together...

Let's think... how do you prevent someone from just re-registering on digitalcombatsimulator.com and logging into the master server with a new account to circumvent server bans? The answer is to somehow also associate UCIDs with your activation keys, I think. So using modules purchased under the same digitalcombatsimulator.com login will result in you having the same UCID, regardless of what login you actually use.

Anyway, I don't know how this works actually, I'm just guessing, but it seems logical.

Jette is my second computer - which I don't use often.

All purchases were deliberately done for the different user accounts. I did have a problem about 9 months ago with these accounts being mixed up, and had to resolve those issues through the accounts page. I was getting login failures until it was resolved by using EinstienEP's guide -

Since the Transaction Codes and Serial Numbers are different for all the modules purchased for both 'accounts' I would expect that the UIDs would also be different.

When I banned Jette from Hollo Pointe server, WC was also banned. That should not be.

In your ideal system, how do you prevent people from just changing their digitalcombatsimulator.com login and thus changing their UCID? UCID needs to be associated in some way with the activation keys if UCID is to be the kind of hard-set, unique identifier that can be used to ban trouble makers or track multiplayer statistics.

Should each activation key have its own, unique UCID? Again no- how do you determine which key to use? Then everyone could have like 5 UCIDs, depending on which modules they have installed, and which one is "dominant".

It does seem like the best solution to the dilemma is to associate the UCID with the digitalcombatsimulator.com login account and activation keys so that all activation keys purchased under the same account result in the same UCID. Again, I don't know how the system works actually, but this is the best way I can think of. The "which UCID has dominance?" problem is then just reduced to the rare instances of people simultaneously using modules purchased by two or more digitalcombatsimulator.com accounts.

You might be able to fix the problem with a support ticket.

I think you are right.

Because the modules for both WC and Jette were purchased under the same umbrella account email address, the UIDs are the same. The UID seems to be the one binding key for all modules purchased under an email address.

Good thing in all this is that I am able to apply the right serial numbers to both computers for WC & Jette so that when either one Joins an MP mission they are recognized correctly on the respective Client computers.
