Active real military flight student needs a Lock On 2 partner

Hello everyone, first time at the forums.

I'm joining because I have a request. I am a current military flight student entering the Air Combat syllabus of my training, and I want to partner up with someone online, who does not need any extensive experience...I'm just tired of the AI in Lock-On 2 which is not sharp enough. Looking for partner to just fly gun's only in similar configuration (Prefer 1 v 1 F-15). Figure this could be fun as well for who ever, and like I said, no extensive experience required as long as you can stick to cockpit only view and manage a gun's only exercise to include head on, low aspect/high aspect offensive/defensive, Flats and rollers. If you don't know what any of that is, it's easy I could teach basics as well...just need a human to fly against.

Also I don't know how to set up a peer 1 V 1 online, so if anyone has insight into that as well, I'd appreciate it...this could be awesome training and if it works out I might start putting together a program here for other students who may benefit from this sort of online training.

Just to confirm, you are using FC2?

If you ever switch to FC3 I would volunteer immediately!

Good luck, I hope you find a partner! This sounds like a fantastic opportunity for a virtual pilot to learn from someone with real-world experience.

I'm actually downloading FC3 as I type this. If you want to help me out that would be great, we could set up a time perhaps...also I'm clueless on how to actually set up a multiplayer session and what comm software to use ect...beginner in that respect.

I could email you a powerpoint outlining the basics of how to set up these exercises in the air...also might be an interesting powerpoint to hold on to for future reference if you ever decide to get really deep into ACM. PM me an address and I'll shoot it over and we can talk times.

Welcome to the forums.

Teamspeak is the voice comm of choice for most virtual flight squadrons. A few use ventrilo. I tend to hang out in my teamspeak after 6 CST. The teamspeak information is in my signature. I wouldn't mind a few flights with a training pilot. If the time works out for you.

Good luck with your future training.

Hi, I would be interested as well if the times work for you (I'm in Hawaii Time Zone but usually free from late morning to mid-afternoon). I also could probably help you with the setting up of your multiplayer host, though it depends a lot on your router.

I have set up a few ACTs for my squadron, trying to stay close to the real deal, and I'd love to know how you'd do it and train with you.

104th Phoenix squadron flies FC3 a lot.

Moa and JAR hang out there. On Moa's FC2 server he hosted VNAO, naval aviation. There was a guy to VNAO named Xiang or better known as X-man; he is a current USA F-18 pilot a couple years into his first hitch. I do not know if X-man flies in the 104th, but Moa or JAR would know.
