deskoilot Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Will Helios connect with DCS World 1.2.4 with out having to reconfigure the path each time you use it?
mhe Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Yes, I have it running, it didn't take much. I have all the patched instrument init luas packaged in a JSGME mod (excellent tutorial by user Ebs available in this forum). The export config resides in the user directory since 1.2.3 and is not touched by the auto updater. So you can happily update, but keep the patched instrument init luas for the A-10C. :) | i9 12900K | 64GB DDR5-6000 | STRIX RTX 4090 OC | LG 38GN950 38" | | Hanns-G HT225HPB | TIR 5 & Varjo Aero | Virpil Throttle & Stick | TM TPRs | You don't stop playing because you grow old, you grow old because you stop playing.
deskoilot Posted May 2, 2013 Author Posted May 2, 2013 So with the new DCS World you do not have to make two new folders (scrip & config) and have them in DCS world and User path and have a config .lua installed in both? I am using BS-2.b What is the JSGME mod?
mhe Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 The updater doesn't modify things located in your saved games/DCS directory as far as I know. So the monitor config lua and export lua stay the same. The only thing you might have to do is patch your instrument init luas (the A-10C requires this, I don't know if it is the same with the Shark). JSGME is the JoneSoft Generic Mod Enabler. You basically build yourself a file structure within a mod directory where you only have the modified files located and you can inject them into your installation with a single click or roll back with another click. Very comfortable, makes updates really painless.
