First, apologies if someone has had a similar problem answered here in the forums, but I've tried searching here and elsewhere, and it's difficult trying to weed out all the TMs getting bricked from other problems.

My right throttle is starting to get very lazy. The left one works fine, but sometimes (more often than not) whenever I move the throttle I get no response. I can be flying along in A-10C say, in a dive, and when I pull out, I'll push my throttles forward and wonder why suddenly I'm yawing to the left. I'll look down at my engines, the left fan speed will be at 80, the right at 50. With throttles matching.

I can push the right throttle to the left side and jiggle it a bit, and the fan speed will come up properly. So it's not a software problem or anything. I'm unfamiliar with the internals, and wondering if anyone is. Like I said, I've looked online, and can only find where the throttles are bricked, or just do not work otherwise. Nothing on "only partly working." Any help or direction would be appreciated.

Hey MacFevre,

I have experienced exactly the same problem. In fact, I'm currently experiencing that problem again, but since I'm flying BMS Falcon these days and have my throttles linked, it's not a problem.

When I first noticed the problem I contacted Thrustmaster support, but they just replied with the default calibration crap ... which of course did nothing to resolve the problem.

I did open up my throttle back then and applied some pressure on a contact board (PCB I believe) and then the right throttle responded properly again. Sorry I can't give you more details as it's been more than a year ago since I did this.

In either case: I have my money on a hardware problem related to a bad contact somewhere.

Br,

Well, a bad connection would be better than a bad sensor or something. I too would just link the throttles, but the only problem I see with that is engine starting. I don't think I've ever split the throttles in the game. They run pretty much even with each other.

Leads me to wonder, does the engine controllers automatically sync the engines? I've seen it both ways, auto and manual where you flip a switch to sync... (man it's been a long time...) the first stage fan? Just so the sound doesn't drive you batty.

When I fly DCS I do want control over both engines independantlly. But in BMS with the script I'm running the left throttle controls the engine and the right one does nothing actually.

In either case, for the price we pay for a Warthog I don't think you should settle with linking them. There's gotto be a reason and solution for the problem. I don't know if you've had a look at http://www.warthogworld.com Someone might be able to help over there.

My son seems to think that he can push one throttle forward, pull one throttle back, and be able to do a 180 flat spin to turn around. That would be pretty cool, but... :music_whistling: I suppose it's kind of like in Top Gun. "I'll just hit the brakes, and he'll fly right by."
