I mentioned this in another thread but figured I should post it in a more appropriate section.

When Game Flight Mode is enabled the Lifebar appears. According to the quickstart guide (page 16) this should be part of the Game Avionics display.

I figured how to get rid of the green part of the bar (by editing a lua file) but I still had the frame on screen.

Out of interest which .lua/line did you change to get rid of it?

I did a 'quick and dirty' fix without trying to sort things out so...

In this folder <install path>\DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\Uh-1H\Cockpit\Scripts\LifeBar

I edited LifeBar.lua and changed the screenscale from 4 ot 0

indicator_type       = indicator_types.COMMON
purposes 	 = {render_purpose.SCREENSPACE_OUTSIDE_COCKPIT,render_purpose.SCREENSPACE_INSIDE_COCKPIT}
screenspace_scale    = 4;  <<change to 0

I could have changed the purposes line but could not recall whether I could just leave it empty or not.

I am sure there is a better way but I only used the Game Flight mode for a couple of flights so I did not dig deeper.

Thanks for that, I'll have a fiddle.

I'm not too proud to stick with game flight mode for now until I can dial back the sensitivity on my stick (or improve my flying... ;) )

Same here. I flew around in Game Flight mode for a bit and it gave me a better understanding of what the machine wanted to do (besides kill me ;) ). It helped me with my curves for sim mode. I still can't land but I can sort of go where I intend, albeit with a drunken wobble.

Leading on from your initial work; if you rename Lifebar_page.lua to Lifebar_page.lua.bak (or anything you like really) then it doesn't appear at all. :)

Thanks, it never even occurred to me to try that.
