Dudester22 Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Either the manual is wrong or I have a bug somewhere? Because when I select the Aim 120, and press key 6 for visual mode (like it tells me to in the manual,) then I get the mode in the picture I uploaded below. However, if I select Aim 120 and press key 2 I do get a Visual Mode. So my question is this >> Will I enter flood mode by pressing key 2 and not key 6 after selecting the Aim 7? The manual says press key 6 after selecting the Aim 7 to enter flood Mode, but it also told me to do that to enter Visual Mode after selecting Aim 120. Could someone please tell me what the Mode is in the picture I uploaded. Really is annoying if the manual reads wrong because it's hard to learn the game with the confusion about what key does what and having to second guess. Thankyou!!

GGTharos Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Visual mode for the AMRAAM means you're launching it without a target - ie. you are tracking the target yourself, visually, right in front of your plane. The AMRAAM defaults to VISUAL if you don't have a designated target, so using the 6 key is really not necessary. The 6 key does make a difference for the AIM-7, where the radar enters FLOOD mode (on the other hand, in real life it will do so automatically when you launch the sparrow without a designated target, or if the radar drops lock while you're guiding sparrow to a target - no need to do this yourself) Uncaged missile functions are not really represented in FC3, so for the most part, you can forget about the 6 key :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
