Map in 'HUD only' mode

I've noticed when you go to 'HUD-only' mode by pressing Alt-F1, there is now a radar scope on the left of the screen and a map on the right of the screen. Interesting feature.

 

Is the map functional at all? That is, is there a way to scroll around on it and zoom in/out?
