cichlidfan Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 As far as the settings in DCS. I can probably leave them as is, since target would replace those joystick commands with key strokes. Technically, that may be true for buttons, but you will still want to check axis settings. I still clear every controller. The only things assigned to anything are the things that I specifically put there. KaspeR32 Posted May 22, 2013 Author Posted May 22, 2013 So I'm finally getting used to this software a little bit. There are some things that are frustrating, that I'm sure a lot of people know about and have dealt with, but overall, it's moving along. Some of the weird things I've noticed is LEDs. Depending on when I plug in my controller, it seems trying to program LEDs kind of.. freeze my controller. I was spending hours on this last night, when finally I just unplugged the controllers and plugged them back in, and voila, the LED programming worked. Very strange. Also, within DCS, there are only 2 flap options for keyboard shortcuts. Flaps Up and Flaps Down. So my flaps switch on the warthog has to be programmed to hit shift-f when I PRESS flaps up switch, and hit f when I RELEASE the flaps up switch. And shift-f when I RELEASE flaps down switch. This seems to work in game fine, but when the mission starts, my flap switch isn't aligned usually to the one in game. All other 3 way switches I think work, because DCS provides 3 separate shortcuts in game to link to my joystick. Not sure if that makes sense to anyone else.. haha. So yeah, Hopefully when I get this profile down, I won't have to mess with it anymore. What's funny is, after messing with this TARGET software... I'm leaning towards just using the joystick without a profile. It is kind of a hassle to run different profiles each time I switch planes inside DCS. If I do just use DCS to configure the joystick, I feel like the ONLY things I'd be missing, is the LED programming, and the "layers" (U, M, D) Just not sure it's worth the hassle.
