jyasek Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Hello, I am having some trouble completing this one. I get to the camp clear out the bad guys, the blackhawks insert the troops and they move to the tents and radio getting some trophies and that's it. I have tried orbiting the area for awhile, landing at the camps, and rtbing with no success progressing. I have installed the campaign fix file at the top of the thread, and still no luck completing. ED Team Laivynas Posted May 17, 2013 ED Team Posted May 17, 2013 Did You eliminated all enemy troops in the nearest forest? There is no required landing to complete camp attack. Do You play with labels on or off? Maybe this can help. Also ask wingman to attack targets. Best Regards, Dmitry. "Чтобы дойти до цели, надо прежде всего идти." © О. Бальзак
Buznee Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Funny, I did absolutely nothing in this mission but follow the leader "springfield 1" I believe and I completed it. I was told through the radio to attack from the rear but then when I try to break formation I get yelled at saying that I should stay in formation. I was confused. I figured if I left formation I would get a mission failed for not following orders so I ended up not attacking anything. Eventually "Miguel" which I believe is my name in the campaign said that the targets have been neutralized. I didn't do anything. We then returned base and got a mission complete. There are definitely issues with this mission. Also the Blackhawk team almost decided to collide into us on our way home. This has been said before but the missions that require formation flying have been very frustrating. The AI decides to follow a constant height AGL and they seem overly gained. Trading height and speed way too aggressively. I almost collided into my group leader countless times because of the jagged movements. On top of that the fact that we are way heavy in loading and cruising at 100 knots means that I am marginal in power and cooking the engines all the time in order to stay in formation. I suggest for these missions where you are loaded heavy and flying in mountain areas to reduce the cruise speed to 80 knots rather than 100 knots. If there's anything that can be done to smooth out the AI logic while in formation, please do so. Also change the rate of climb that the group leader targets, this will also reduce the demand the player has to do in order to stay in formation. AI does not plan their climbs over mountainous terrains very well. They decide to start their climb too late, get near the mountain side and finish the climb vertically. This would be a big no no in real life.
flyer49 Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 (edited) Hi all...I too was having problems with "Teachers" but after the "Campaign fix" it got a little better. My first attempt after the fix, went well until the end where I got a "Mission Successful" message but didn't receive credit for the mission, requiring me to re-fly the entire mission (for a fifth time). My second attempt (after the fix) had Springfield 1 flying very slowly (maybe 20 knots) after we cleared the LZ and picked up our troops and I had to leave them behind. Once I got back to base I got a "mission successful" message, this time it gave me credit and advanced me to mission 12. I guess we have to remember we're helping find the bugs in the Beta version of the Huey. All future Huey drivers will appreciate our sacrifices. To all of the developers thanks for all of your hard work. Edited July 7, 2013 by flyer49 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 229th battalion, 1st Cavalry
snow90 Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 Springfield 1 does not reach waypoint 2 Hi All, I'm having trouble with the UN Campaign mission 11 too. I have applied the fix from the sticky but it hasn't helped. In the mission I take off and join on the left side of Springfield 1, we fly forward a bit and Springfield 1 issues the command to fly heading 060 at 100 knots and then he just flies figure 8's around the FARP and the airfield. I have spent nearly a 1/2 hour following him at less than 0.2nm but we never move onto waypoint 2. I have looked at the mission in the editor and clicked show all for the triggers but I cannot see what triggers moving onto waypoint 2 I am really enjoying this campaign but getting frustrated by this mission. I am using DCS World 1.2.6 Thanks.
snow90 Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 Springfield 1 does not reach waypoint 2 Solved it myself. Saw a mention here http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=113723 about landing points at waypoint 0. I looked a little closer in the mission editor, and Springfield 1 had a landing trigger on Waypoint 0. I deleted that, and the mission played as I assume it was supposed to. Didn't finish it because I broke off the rotor on my fourth gun run on the rebels, but better than doing circles at the airfield. Feeling much happier now. :pilotfly:
