Monitors for Thrustmaster MFDs

So I am looking at getting 2 of these I am also running the following

 

i7 920 @ 3.8GHz

16GB DDR3

128GB Crucial M4 SSD

2xRadeon 6950 2GB

3xAcer H233H monitors

 

I just want to make sure I can just plug these in and have my MFDs velcro'd to the monitors and everything work :)

 

Any thoughts on these monitors?

Go for the 8 in versions - non touchscreen ones. Also check on this forum as there's loads of info already about them

I want them to fit well not with a ton of excess screen hanging out.

I know what you mean, there is a load of excess of monitor outside the mfcd but then you're also not going to have the inside of the mfcd filled either due to the ratio/ screen size. Depends what's more important to you

Yeah I saw some screen shots of the 7inch in them....doesnt really make me happy. Ugh.. I dont think the wife will let me spend an extra ~110 bucks.

Would i be better off getting a 10inch tablet and selling these thrustmasters?

 

EDIT: Just tested with a 7inch cheapo tablet and my frames dropped drastically. So I think I may want to stick with possibly a smaller monitor type setup and use my MFDs and get rid of one of my 24inch monitors possibly.

I don't think so. Depends what you want. I like the immersion factor with them although I don't have monitors yet. With a ten inch tablet and iControl the mfcds are much smaller. Would keep the monitor - it could come in handy. There's also the option of a touch screen and putting the mfcds over the top then using Helios to export them. As I say, look around on the forum, there's loads of info available

I first used a 16" monitor with the MFD's attached to the front. Worked well but it left me wanting. So I found this: http://www.amazon.com/Planar-PXL2230MW-Edge-Touchscreen-Monitor/dp/B00C04QLNY/ref=sr_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1375232046&sr=1-4&keywords=pxl2230mw I set up Helios with CptLoz's 2.1 profile and sold the MFD's on Ebay for $60. works perfect. There is no framerate difference with or without Helios running on a seperate monitor as long as you are only displaying the MFD's and other viewports on the touchscreen.

That is an awesome setup, as of now I have a 20inch monitor being used for my MFD's and some other viewports, it seems to be working well. I will look into that touch monitor pretty good price it seems.
