Leveller Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 Ok i've written about this tons of times now, other forums, chats and so on.. So ill make it quick and simple. 1: i install lomac from cd 2: i bought the FC. 3: i install FC + Patch 4: i try to run Lomac 1.11. This happeneds: A black box appear on my desktop with the "ms timeglass" in it when i hold the mouse in it. I got the background "music" with the speaking/boresight sounds. But nothing happeneds. ( i waited for a loong time while eating and when i got back i got about 3x "program made a illegal operation and was closed down" (but in swedish wich is my XP language) So now i wonder.. what do i doo? My specs are: Intel P3.0 Ghz Proc. Somethingmade 1 GB DDram. Ati Radeon 9800 Pro 256mb. Running Win XP Home ed SP 2. I don't think ive missed anything.. ( i also already tried installing just FC without the patch but with same results ) And yes i can play lomac 1.02 without problems. Just don't with FC. Thank you in advanced for answers.. / Tobias, Sweden.
ViperVJG73 Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 Hi, after installing FC you should go to the Lock On folder and start Lock on with double mouse click on the "lockon.bat" (not exe). ;) Best Regards Viper System: Intel Core i7-4790, 3,6GHz, 16GB RAM, 128GB SSD, 2TB HDD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 2GB GDDR5, TM HOTAS Warthog;(MSFFB2 for testing); TrackIR4 +Track Clip Pro; Windows 10 Pro.
Leveller Posted January 7, 2006 Author Posted January 7, 2006 asdf Nope.. Same problem. I get the sound in the background but the game wont startup. And yes i have the latest gfxdrivers and latest dx. (i also tried starting with the desktopicon for 1.1, the original startmenu icon and the bat file. No luck. Sooo.. more suggestions?
D-Scythe Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 Are you sure the FC patch and FC are compatible? There are 2 versions of FC, the download WEB version and the CD version, each with its own V1.11 patch. I recommend you install Lock On, try running it to see if you get an error, then if you don't, install FC, then run it to see if you get the same error, then finally install the patch.
Leveller Posted January 8, 2006 Author Posted January 8, 2006 Yes ive done exactly as you said. Of cource did i take the web patch since i bought FC online and downloaded it. As i where saying i even tried downloading FC from all the different mirrors. And i can run LOMAC from fresh install, and with 1.02 patch too. But as soon as i install FC (even without patching it) it wont boot up.

Just a few more things that can cause a crash. - Maybe you're trying to run Lock On rather than Lock On 1.1 after the FC install? - does Star Force prompt you for the activation code before it crashes on you? - I assumed you installed both Lock On and Lock On FC in Program files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On folder? This should be the default installation pathway for both. If not, try it. - Try changing Lock On compatibility to Windows ME or something Just a few random things to try. I have no idea what's going on, but maybe you would like to PM Chizh in this forum? 1
Leveller Posted January 8, 2006 Author Posted January 8, 2006 Hm, i've installed lockon on another drive. Ill try install it in the original directory.. And yes i use the 1.11 shortcut to try to start FC.. I'll get back to you. Yes ive used the registration key twice when reinstalled FC before i saw the save-registry-program @ lockon.ru files. So i just have 3 activations left. Yes its odd indeed that i can run 1.02 but not the FC..

Leveller Posted January 8, 2006 Author Posted January 8, 2006 No it didnt work to install in default directory. Same problem. I get the sound in the background but the game doesent load up.
Wombat1940 Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 Are you able to install FC1.11 on to another computer? This would give you some indication if its a h'ware prob or s'ware. I have 1.02 and 1.11 on the same machine  .... sorry that doesn't help .... just try that second computer. Also after my numerous installations of 1.11 trying to get it to install parallel with 1.02, I got a note each time about removing lockon Windows files. There are 3 lockon.pf files in the Windows/prefetch folder. Have you removed these? Might be worth a try. EgorKA Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 Leveller! What is driver (number) videocard ? There is problem - LockOn don't run by driver 7x.xx - try install driver 6x.xx or 8x.xx !
EgorKA Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 And yes i have the latest gfxdrivers and latest dx. Ooops, i don't understand - what mark of your video: ATI or nVidia ?

I got a old P3 800 mhz wich running Linux.. buut i dont reeeeaally feel like installing windows on that one. It shouldnt be software since i can run 1.02 but not FC.. damn i really all out of ideas. I've been battling this problem since tuesdasy when i got home from work. :/ I had several files in my windows/prefetch folder: LOCKON.EXE-0F542415.pf LOCKON.EXE-2E61B434.pf LOCKON.EXE-05FD199D.pf LOCKON_SAVE_REGISTRY.EXE-360AFB22.pf LOGONUI.EXE-0AF22957.pf LO_1.1_FLAMING_CLIFFS_SETUP.E-394EC8C2.pf LO_FLAMING_CLIFFS_PATCH_1-2.1-3B8523DC.pf LO_FLAMING_CLIFFS_PATCH_1.11_-0E142882.pf LO_FLAMING_CLIFFS_PATCH_1.11_-0F1F5956.pf LO_FLAMING_CLIFFS_PATCH_1.11_-1044E69B.pf I did not remove them just cutted them out and pasted in a backup folder.. but they aint in the win/pref.. anymore. I tried to start lomac after i "removed" them. Still no luck.
