nap0leonic Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Do you want DCS to cover for xperimental planes that mainly designed to study flight dynamics such as F-15 ACTIVE, F-18 HARV, F-16XL, X-29, X-31 and such? possible scenario is to use such aircraft for high altitude / extreme manouvering guns only dogfight multiplayer :D or of course, aerobatics. such modules don't have to have full blown war avionics, just give it WVR combat capability and guns :D will you buy such modules?
nap0leonic Posted August 19, 2013 Author Posted August 19, 2013 no comment, low voters... am I the only one who find this is interesting?
zaelu Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 A simulator like DCS tries to simulate something that is known. How is it suppose to simulate finding something unknown? Because this is what those experimental aircrafts do. They take an idea... out of engineers mind and test in in real world where they can see if calculated/simulated data fits the reality. If you imagine some data then simulate it on a computer model then trying to prove its validity you then "test" it also on a simulator... you are just stealing your own hat. That's why such planes you wish for will fly whatever you want them to fly... but not "realistically". That's why many around here are a bit doubtful about simulating F-35 which is a still testing aircraft. nap0leonic Posted August 19, 2013 Author Posted August 19, 2013 eh I thought NASA has released all the data since the project ended in 1996?
