Tatarus Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 (edited) Hi people! The original A-10A cockpit for Flaming Cliffs 1-2 looks a bit outdated nowadays (though it was quite decent in 2003), especially against a background of the high quality Russian pits by RICARDO. I tried to find the full quality remake, and was surprised that there's none. So, I decided to fill the only gap in HD pits for FC1-2. For that I took the brilliant "Horse of War" mod for DCS A-10C by RICARDO as a source, and modified it for Flaming Cliffs 1-2. It was hell of a work, since many of the textures had to be redone or even made from scratch, and it took me almost a week, but I hope the result is worth it. And I want to thank RICARDO for such an excellent source textures, without it I wouldn't have even started. As it's almost finished, except for the right side panel, and the gray base under the gauges, I'm posting some screenshots, and I'd appreciate any notes and critics, especially concerning inaccuracies or typos. I tried to keep as close to original ED cockpit as possible, also referred to some photos, but there are still slight differencies. Texture resolution allows for extreme zoom levels now, but I can make the light version for those who experience FPS hit. Also, I'd be very grateful if someone can point me the location of the font texture, marked on the last screenshot. PPS. I do know that FC3 has 6DOF A-10A cockpit. And if I will make this mod available, consider it for the fans of the ED classic. Edited September 12, 2013 by Tatarus .
zaelu Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 (edited) But you do know that now for FC3 we have full 6DoF 3D cockpit for A10A... right? the one from here: Edited September 10, 2013 by zaelu [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] I5 4670k, 32GB, GTX 1070, Thrustmaster TFRP, G940 Throttle extremely modded with Bodnar 0836X and Bu0836A, Warthog Joystick with F-18 grip, Oculus Rift S - Almost all is made from gifts from friends, the most expensive parts at least
Tatarus Posted September 10, 2013 Author Posted September 10, 2013 (edited) Of course I do. But what's the problem? People using DCS World are not intended to get this. Firstly I did it for myself, but yesterday decided to share it, for those who still play FC1-2 like me. If none will need it, I won't cry and just continue to use it myself. But Flaming Cliffs 1-2 still alive, you know. Edited September 10, 2013 by Tatarus
zaelu Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 No problem. But you said you are new here so I thought that maybe you don't know of DCS A10A flaming cliffs released as a module. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] I5 4670k, 32GB, GTX 1070, Thrustmaster TFRP, G940 Throttle extremely modded with Bodnar 0836X and Bu0836A, Warthog Joystick with F-18 grip, Oculus Rift S - Almost all is made from gifts from friends, the most expensive parts at least
