I am a new user of LockOn and this is my first post here, so maybe my questions are well known issues and easy fixed.

I recently installed LockOn v1.00 onto my computer and it works quite well. I use a MS FFB2 joystick. Then I installed the v1.02 patch and the FFB2 stick became quite heavy and feels trimmed down. Using the standard trim controls will not work, actually using Ctrl+. (trim up) will trim the A-10 left, Ctrl+T (Cancel trim) also has no effect. So if I let go of the joystick the left wing would suddenly lower and the nose dive quite strongly. Have uninstalled Lockon 1.02 and reinstalled twice, but the problem remains. Installing only the standard v1.00 LockOn is ok, there are no trim problems with this version, but the FFB2 feels very light (a bit like the forcefeed is disabled).

Unrelated, also noticed that I do not need the Lockon disk in my DVD drive if I use v1.02 - but need it in v1.00 ??

Have these questions:

Are there any known issues with V1.02 in combination with the FFB2 stick?

Is there a way in Lockon to save a control profile for joystick and kbd as a file, or install one already compiled? (lets say I want to modify the settings but then get back to a previous profile but not default)

Is v1.1 Flaming Cliffs known to work well with FFB2?

Hi and welcome.

I too use the FF2 stick with flamming Cliffs (you really should get it) and don't have any problems. The main thing you need to do to fix most of your problems is got to your lockon directory and change a file. It can be found here: Lockon\config folder then open the producer.cfg file with notepad and change the "true" statement to "false" then save it.

although this disables FF it improves preformance and solves all the issues you encounter.

I don't believe there is a way to save your keyboard/stick assignments to a file but i maybe wrong. I just assign buttons through the lockon setup screen, and my CH throttle with CH manager.

hope this helps,

cheers

Actually got a solution from another LockOn user in a different newsgroup and he says to use Alt+J twice, this fixes a FFB2 bug intoduced in v1.02. Well, it works for me, my trim works now and I still have forcefeedback which I want to keep.

And yes, have to get a newer version, but might wait for Black Shark which should come out later this year.

Thanks again, Toms
