Metal Hawk Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Is there a shortcut key that can adjust the volume in-game? I know that it can be set in the options before starting a mission, but sometimes I need to alter the volume while in a mission. If there isn't, I think that it would be nice to add it.
PalpableGlint2 Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 RWR volume can be reduced. I have no idea why it was so loud, that it was hard to hear the chatter. that's about one of the things that can be adjusted in your packages manually. I don't think anything else can be done in flight. otherwise, all your settings to that is in your keybinds list in the options menu. also, the game doesn't just use general profiles, but you may have other profiles to use at the same time.
Snaut Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 (edited) If you want to control the overall volume, a keyboard with volume keys works great. In cockpit there are working volume knobs for radios, stall warning, rwr, tacan etc. You can assign key shortcuts to them. Metal Hawk Posted September 13, 2013 Author Posted September 13, 2013 Thanks for your answers guys. But I maybe was not clear. I know about the individual systems volume controls and I know about the overall windows volume. But that does not help me. Lets say that you forgot to lower the worlds volume and started a mission. If you want to use for e.x. teamspeak the worlds volume will be too loud for you to hear the sound of other programs running (like teamspeak). And if you lower the main windows volume you also lower teamspeak. I would like to lower the ingame volume of the world without lowering windows volume.
Martyn Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 I have the same problem where TeamSpeak is concerned. If I Alt-Tab from the game to make an adjustment to TeamSpeak's volume, my Sidewinder 2 force-feedback is messed up (strong centring force only - the ability to use trim then goes out of the window). However, you can set up shortcut keys in the TeamSpeak options to adjust the voice volume whilst you're in game, so that might solve your problem but from a different angle.

Unfortunately, for me, Alt-Tab is not only a hassle but also source for major problems (like FPS drop). And, although your suggestion about increasing teamspeak volume looks like a nice workaround, I would like to avoid that. You see, I really like to keep my hearing. It would be great if the devs give us keyboard shortcuts to control the volume sliders that are in the option menu from inside the game. But I am surprised that with so many people using teamspeak noone suggested it already.
