KastaRules Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Hello, two questions: 1. I would like to uninstall BS1 from my system and I'd like to know if there are files and/or reg keys I can backup to trick the computer into "thinking" that BS1 is still installed and activated so, each time I install the BS2 upgrade module into DCS World, I don't have to re-install and activate BS1 as well. 2. I own 4 modules for DCS World: Black Shark 2 (upgrade), A-10C, P-51D and the new Mi8MTV2. Now, I have two different installations of DCS World on my system: the "standard" (installer(s) downloaded straight from the site) and the Steam version. I would very much like to have a single installation of DCS World, as to save space and I am prone to just keep the Steam version (I like it better because it updates itself automatically and effortlessly, while the standard version often runs into some sort of issue while updating). The problem is I can't activate the BS2 Upgrade Key on Steam. Isn't there any way to merge the BCS2 Upgrade module into the Steam installation folder of DCS World... and make it work? Thank you. Regards, Francesco aka Kasta

Regards, Francesco aka Kasta AFAIK, the only solution is to purchase BS 2 full version. The BS2 key and product will never be recognized by Steam. Perhaps if they will ever put in on "super sale" I could think about it... Since I have already spent $60 on BS + Update. Does anybody have an idea for the first question?

It is possible that answering question one could be construed as a violation of ED's forum rules against discussing software piracy (even though you own the game). KastaRules Posted October 6, 2013 Author Posted October 6, 2013 From what I understand, the file(s) that record the activation create a unique key to work only with the specific hardware (and OS) the game was installed and activated upon. Hence being completely useless on any other machine.
