I recently bought two planes and got an invalid key code when I tried to play my game. I resubmitted my code several times and my game finally accepted them. I now see the same serial number associated with those plane listed twice in my Module Manager. That doesn't seem right, but at least my game plays.

A friend says the same thing has happened to him, but his activation code is still invalid and he can't play the game. He says it has happened with EVERY order and he has to make out a support ticket for the problem to get cleared up.

I'm afraid to buy anything else which would cause my game not to work due to an invalid key code.

Is there a "proper" way to purchase another plane that avoids this problem, or will buying products always be this hazardous?

There's another plane I'd like to buy but I don't wish to go through the hassle of invalid activation codes.

The most common issues leading to "invalid key" are the following:

1) Attempting to activate the wrong product.

2) Registry errors.

3) Erroneous account selection (MP only).

For #1, one simply has to check here:

attachment.php?attachmentid=88624&d=1380352969

In very very many cases, the problem is that simple: people did not see that they are being asked for a product and tried inputting key for another product. DCS World will ask for activation on all installed products that are not yet activated; not just the one you are starting.

For #2 (when it states "integrity fault" etcetera), follow FAQ directions here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/faq/activation_wiki

For #3: Note that one should connect to the MP server with the same account that was used to purchase on the website. If products are purchased elsewhere (GamePfly, Steam, EBGames, GameStop etcetera) the product will become associated to the first account that uses them.

Thank you for your prompt response.

I just purchased another plane and it worked fine with no problems

Part of my problem the first time was I didn't install from the Module Manager. I downloaded the file and installed from my download folder.

This time I used the Module Manager to install the game and the key worked first time when I selected the plane to fly.

My friend just attempted what I'm reporting and got a good install but again an invalid activation code as with his other installs. He checked that it was the correct aircraft and registry file but still no luck.
