Weta43 Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 I think I remember seeing something in one of the .lua or .cfg files where the darkness of the night could be adjusted. I want to make my nights a bit darker, but can't remember/find where I saw it. Am I imagining it or does somebody know where it is? Did a search & found a thread, someone mentioned adjusting it, but didn't say how they'd done it. Cheers.
ARM505 Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 Motion seconded, does anyone know more about this? No joy with search....
britgliderpilot Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 It was a dark and stormy night . . . and the men said to the captain: "Tell us a story" And the following story he told . . . . . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg
MBot Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 That's how my nights look like. The sky looks fine, but the ground looks like is beeing illuminated somehow ( with overcast it looks the same btw ).
Caretaker Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 With the limited colour space that graphics cards and monitors have to work with, it's simply impossible to capture the low lighting conditions of night correctly. And unless you give everything the same black colour (which isn't realistic either), people can always adjust brightness/contrast/gamma settings. I can still think of some things that would enhance the night feeling (directional light from the moon, more ground/airport lights, or how about clouds being illuminated by city lights), but the brightness issue is more or less impossible to solve ;) At least for the developers, you can of course always try to adjust your settings until it looks fine to you :p Caretaker ED Beta Test Team
Weta43 Posted January 24, 2006 Author Posted January 24, 2006 Yep - it was the illumination of the ground I wanted to get rid of. I can adjust my monitor, but I'm making a campaign I want to share & I wanted to make it DARKer in a particular mission - & I can't adjust other peoples screens. Oh well... I was sure I'd seen a setting for it soemwhere. Cheers.
