JOKERACTS Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 (edited) Sound bug remain after latest 1.2.6 update 2. In single player, the sound bug for the air vehicle start from ramp or parking area, the loud engine running sound with the aircraft start from the ramp or parking area with engine off. However the sound gone after few second, and with normal engine start-up sound while starting the turbine engine. New sound bug after latest 1.2.6 update 1, (correction) slight sound crack/distortion for radio speech, SU-25T external view, during zooming out or in. same sound problem found on others vehicle as well, the Apache AH-64D, Chinhook, maybe others too?  crystal clear and realistic sound for the SU-33, F/A-18C, MI-8MTV2, AH-1W, MIG-29 ....?? identified the problem, it was the sound record data distortion/crack, not the computer or the speaker problem. :book: Identified the problem located in DCS_World_1.2.6.18651.276-275-4.bin, where the sound file was located. try to download from different server and see if it fix? JOKERACTS Posted October 13, 2013 Author Posted October 13, 2013 (edited) Yes, previous I am using the SoundBlaster X-Fi Fatality professional series, it sound very nice, but I had sold it off just want to get the latest Z series or newer model upon release. Now, I am using the on board sound for temporally. The sound quality was not too bad, because I only use the TOSLINK SPDIF optical connection to the Home theatre system. I did not install the OpenAL driver. I play the simulator with loud sound, there was no cracking or distortion sound on other air vehicle as the MI-8MTV2, SU-33, F/A-18C, MIG-29A, MIG-29S, AH-1W ...., the cracking sound only on certain vehicle at external view while zooming in or out, slight distortion/cracking with external view on certain air vehicle. I did experienced similar problem on previous gameplay, where I download the DCS World from USA server, the sound crack in gameplay. Then I download it on German server, the sound was crystal clear. But recently after I format my PC, I download the latest version of DCS World from Russian Server, the sound was clear as usual before the latest 1.2.6 update 2 patch installed. I confirm it was sound data 's sound recorded cracking/distortion, I checked the sound files in the DCS World/sound/effect/engine folder, some of the sound recorded file tainted with cracking/distortion. (unfiltered NOISE) NOT HARDWARE PROBLEM, NOT BIOS SETTING PROBLEM, NOT SOFTWARE PROBLEM, NOT ONBOARD SOUND PROBLEM..... NEED URGENT FIX / REPLACEMENT !!!! Identified the problem located in DCS_World_1.2.6.18651.276-275-4.bin, where the sound file was located. try to download from different server and see if it get fix? JOKERACTS Posted October 15, 2013 Author Posted October 15, 2013 there was no cracking or distortion sound on other air vehicle: MI-8MTV2, SU-33, F/A-18C, MIG-29A, MIG-29S, AH-1W, MIG-25, KA-50, TU-160, TU-22 ...., run the simulator for long period with Apache AH-64 and CH-47, the cracking sound will spread to all other sound cracking and distorting, even after quite the simulator and play movie in media player or view video on youtube. I recover it back with uninstall the onboard audio driver and reflash the motherboard BIOS, disable the onboard audio on Bios, load into windows. restart the PC, re-enable the onboard Audio in BIOS, reinstall the Driver. set the sound sampling rate at 16bit 48khz. will try the 24bit setting next...
