No.64_Gromic Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Hi gents, I'm having strange issues with trim on the mustang. I have elevator trim mapped to a rotary knob on an X45 and, if for example, I trim down then the aircraft banks to starboard and vice versa. Weirdly enough, using external views, I can confirm the elevator trim tab moving in the correct direction as it should. In cockpit the trim wheel also moves like it should in the proper direction. FM wise though, it's as if I had engaged aileron instead of elevator trim. Even my MS FFB2 stick starts leaning to left or right depending on the direction on trim. Looks like I'll have to have a word with the mechanics in the hanger 'cause someone needs to pull out the gremlins fiddeling with my control lines. :joystick: Is this a bug I'm not aware of? A quick forum search doesn't show anything. Naturally, I'm using the latest DCSW patch. Cheers, Gromic FB_Addon_TelNo{ height:15px !important; white-space: nowrap !important; background-color: #0ff0ff;}
PitbullVicious Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 This seems to be an old post, but I'm having similar issues with my MS SWII FFB stick in Open Beta 1.5 (these problems MIGHT have existed in earlier version also. I haven't flown the P-51D much until recently). I'm using the MS SW II joystick hat for aileron and elevator trim. However, setting the nose up and down trims in the setting to hat switch backward and forward respectively seems to affect the aileron trim (plane banking to right or left with the joystick offsetting from the centre in logical manner in respect to the aileron trim). Binding the hat left and right to hat switch left and right seems in turn affect the pitch trim. I have no recollection if the trims in the cockpit model move correctly or not, nor have I checked how the tabs actually move in the aeroplane model. I will verify these once I get home and update this thread. Of course the work around is simple, just binding the pitch trim to POV hat left / right and the aileron trim to POV hat frwd / bckwrd, but if somebody at ED / FC has time to look at this. - PitbullVicious i9-9900K @ 5.1GHz | MSI Ventus 3X OC RTX3090 24GB | 64GB 3200MHz DDR4 | Asus ROG Strix Z390-E | Asus Xonar DGX 5.1 Sound Card | Virpil T50CM2 base w/ F/A-18C / A-10C / Virpil T50CM2 Grip | WinWing Super Taurus Throttle | MFG pedals | TekCreations Hornet UFC, Landing Panel, Right Console | WinWing Hornet Combat Ready Panel | Buddy Fox UFC | Foxx Mount | 3 x TM Cougar MFD | HP Reverb G2 | Wacom Intuos S (with VRK) | Honeycomb Alpha Yoke | Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS | CH Fighter Stick Pro & Throttle | MS Sidewinder 2 FFB | Track IR 5 | Oculus Rift CV1 善く戦う者は、まず勝つべからざるを為して、以て敵の勝つべきを待つ。
PitbullVicious Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 I could also verify this: "Weirdly enough, using external views, I can confirm the elevator trim tab moving in the correct direction as it should. In cockpit the trim wheel also moves like it should in the proper direction." I.e. the plane 3D model seems to act according to the trim binds, but the FM actually acts as if pitch and roll trim have been exchanged. I'm also using a MS SWII FFB joystick (with the Warthog throttle), so maybe that is the root of the problem. I'll try with another stick. I think in at least MiG-15bis the trim works correctly with the FFB joystick. - PitbullVicious i9-9900K @ 5.1GHz | MSI Ventus 3X OC RTX3090 24GB | 64GB 3200MHz DDR4 | Asus ROG Strix Z390-E | Asus Xonar DGX 5.1 Sound Card | Virpil T50CM2 base w/ F/A-18C / A-10C / Virpil T50CM2 Grip | WinWing Super Taurus Throttle | MFG pedals | TekCreations Hornet UFC, Landing Panel, Right Console | WinWing Hornet Combat Ready Panel | Buddy Fox UFC | Foxx Mount | 3 x TM Cougar MFD | HP Reverb G2 | Wacom Intuos S (with VRK) | Honeycomb Alpha Yoke | Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS | CH Fighter Stick Pro & Throttle | MS Sidewinder 2 FFB | Track IR 5 | Oculus Rift CV1 善く戦う者は、まず勝つべからざるを為して、以て敵の勝つべきを待つ。
OnlyforDCS Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Hello Pittbull. I too am using the FFB2 and this is a setup issue, which should not be a problem to solve. You need to check the "swap axis" setting if you are experiencing this problem while using this joystick. The setting is found under the force feedback effects tab in your control options if I remember correctly. Once you have done this you might need to restart DCS and that should solve your problems. Current specs: Windows 10 Home 64bit, i5-9600K @ 3.7 Ghz, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB Samsung EVO 860 M.2 SSD, GAINWARD RTX2060 6GB, Oculus Rift S, MS FFB2 Sidewinder + Warthog Throttle Quadrant, Saitek Pro rudder pedals.
PitbullVicious Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 OnlyforDCS, That worked indeed.
