OutLaw51 Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 this may sound like a silly question how can you fine tune the joystick as mime seems to pull back all the time making it hard to fly
Wichid Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 You probably need to set the trim slightly forward. The centre position of the cyclic has the helicopter moving backwards, probably due to the centre of gravity. So before take off, push forward slightly and trim and then start the take off. ShuRugal Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Sounds like you need to bind a button on your joustick to the Trimmer. (Trimmer) button – Cancels all force on cyclic with the trimming mechanisms. When released, the autopilot will stabilize current angles of pitch, bank and yaw [T]. Note that this is a different method of trimming the aircraft compared to fixed wing aircraft. This is the (very simple) breakdown on how trimming works in the KA-50 (and many other helicopters besides). Basically, you hold the trimmer button down, fly the aircraft into the desired flight condition, then release the trimmer. If you are using a non-FFB stick, you will need to center the stick immediately upon releasing the trimmer. With a FFB stick, the stick will remain at the newly trimmed position. flight manual page 340 Trim the helicopter by pressing the trim button. If you don’t have a Force Feedback joystick, after pressing the trim button you must move the stick to the neutral position. For more information on trimming for flight, please read pages 340-345 of the flight manual.
seikdel Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 If you go into the controls section of the option menu and select the axises for the Ka-50, you can click on one particular axis (i.e. JOYX) and then click the Axis Tune button. Here you can adjust parameters for an axis. But to expound on Wichid's post, trimmed for parking does not equal trimmed for hover. The Ka-50 has a different attitude when hovering than it does when parked on the ground. If you're trimmed for a hover and you put her on the ground without retrimming, she'll roll forward. If you're trimmed for park and you take off with the stick centered, she'll fly back.
