I notice sounds folder has 2 of the same files only one with .ogg the other .wav, their sounds are slightly different. Why the 2 and what's the difference?

Thank you.

WAV is uncompressed. Files therefore get huge. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WAV

OGG is compressed. Files get smaller. Quality can suffer in some cases due to compression. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ogg_Vorbis

No that's not what I'm referring to. Why does DCS have for example in the same folder:

C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Sounds\Effects\Aircrafts\Engines

CockpitAfterburner.ogg

CockpitAfterburner.wav
