ENO Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 I'm sitting down at the editor getting ready to go into about 40 different aircraft positions and set up triggers to message a particular unit that roams into a "life fire" zone that they have done so. Unfortunately, I have a variety of different missions that would benefit from this and I've taken the lazy man's way out and just "message all" that "an aircraft has entered..." This gets annoying to me, and I'm sure it gets annoying to everyone else as well after awhile. I would like to use a "unit in zone" MIST function in tandem with a generic message" and I was hoping someone had one in their back pocket? :music_whistling: "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. ENO Posted January 7, 2014 Author Posted January 7, 2014 Okay, well maybe it isn't as easy as I thought or people just think I'm being lazy- or maybe a combination. Anyway, feeling a bit guilty about being lazy I did go in and start going through the process of "group in zone" with a generic message. What I'd like to do is take the existing MIST function that tracks units in zones, identify from the table of valid units which unit it is, and just send a message to that unit. If I went into the .miz and looked in the mission file at a "switched condition, unit (or group) in zone, message" entry- would that get me in the ballpark? Would it then just be a matter of adding a function to identify the specific unit- and send it a message? I can keep digging, but is it possible or is it just not quite that easy?
