3Sqn_Sven Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Hey all, my friends PC ( p4 2.4 Ghz 1.5gb RAM 80gb HD xfx 6800xt win xp SP 1 nvidia drivers 80.77 DX9c, 400watt power supply) crashes in games after about 5 min. It works for hours at a time in windows, but crashes in games, ie BF2 and call of duty. The graphics card is only a few weeks old, the problem has been occuring for only one week. I have suggested maybe the system is getting too hot or maybe the power supply is on the way out, but I'm not expert. Any advice from anyone? 3Sqn - Largest distributor of Flanker, Fulcrum and Frogfoot parts in the Black Sea Region
VMFA-Blaze Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Yes it sounds like a heat issue...... You might want to try running without the side cover if you havn't allready...... That might just fix it..... ~S~ Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR
badaboom Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Is it crashing in MP[online]?If it's in offline also, I had a simular problem with crashing,I had to turn down the HAZE setting from advanced to basic in the graphics options,I think it's a issue with nvidia cards. Opps reread your post again, you state it happens in other games.....sorry no idea [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
bengo Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Hi, had a similar experience a while back. Game was running fine, then all of a sudden sounds stutter and keeps on replaying (sounded more or less like a machinegun rattling) for 5 seconds and the PC rebooted. Had this happen in different games. Solution was to turn the hardware sound acceleration down a notch or two, or even all the way. Hope it helps. i7 6700k/GTX1070-8G/MSI-Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon/32GB DDR4 Kingston HyperX PREDATOR DDR4 3000MHZ Vengeance 1600/TM Warthog #6106/Samsung SB350_S27B350H/OCZ Agility3 SSD 128GB / Win10-64/TIR5

This is a known problem: Be sure the sound hardware accelaration has been disabled. kind regards, Raven.... [sigpic]http://www.crc-mindreader.de/CRT/images/Birds2011.gif[/sigpic]
