Just got my new disc #2 for lockon gold and have patch 1.12 installed. I want to play online but I can't figure it out. I am a noob so any help would be appreciated. Been playing sims since janes USNF and Longbow era. This is way more advanced, and fun. Anyways, if there are any flight "squadrons" out there can I join and train with you? Don't know if I have this aimed in the right forum, I am just trying to stick out a thread and find the right reader to point me in the right direction.

Thanks all. This rounds on me. <-- stupid line from Longbow 2 opening movie. lol.

Of course.

Firstly download and print new LockOn 1.1 manual. It's very important to have it all the time with you. It will help you a lot and you'll quickly get used to new controls, cockpits and right procedures.

Watch tutorials tracks that are in the game. Though some may play wrongly because they were recorded using 1.1 version and aren't fully compatible with 1.12.

Play a bit with mission editor and create free flying sessions, then add some target. Mission editor is powerfull tool if you want to practice things read in manual and it is very good to know how it works.

For multiplayer download hyperlobby application. Just google for hyperlobby.

Come on our VVS504 server (its in hyperlobby server list) and on our VVS504 webpage http://www.vvs504.co.uk

After you got used to controls and feel you are ready and want to fly russian planes there are very good instructors in our squad that will teach you everything you need online. Get TeamSpeak. Our TS server is http://www.vvs504.co.uk:8765 - and this is the right place to visit too. You can use it for radio comms when you are playing on our VVS504 dedicated multiplayer server.

Sorry to hyjack the thread but I have a quick question. How is Lock On in multiplayer for dial up users? I've flown Jane's F-15 and DID's F-22 and Microsoft Flight Sim 2004 in multiplayer but Lock On seems a little more resource heavy. Is it playable online with a dial up?

i tryed the same thing with dial-up before month of two and i had a lot of lags.

it is playable with dial-up but it think you will not enjoy

you should considering about taking some ADSL connection beacause recommended connection speed for playing LO in MP is 128/128 kb/s

I'd love DSL but we can't get it where I live. My ISP offers it but we live more than 5 miles from the office so attenuation drags connection speed down to about what I'm getting with dial up. We live way out in the boonies.

They call the internet the "Information Super Highway". Well, in that case I live on a dirt road. I've checked into satellite but that's one way and very expensive. OK for downloads if you can afford it but not for MP games.
