Overview

Shrek Sqn members (hard core of 12+) still meet up every Tueday with an average attendance of 7+. We also enjoy randomly meeting up in the afternoons and Friday nights. Ages range from early 30's to over 70's. Banter is compulsory. We are a multiplayer Squadron with social activity (BBQ every year) and friendship at the forefront but occasionally we get serious. Several SHREK servers exist containing in-house created (Nebs mostly) missions, Mods server and Dynamic Servers (always maintained/updated to the latest build) with persistance set. Our members vary in skill levels from up and coming to, highly skilled to fading with age. Skills include technical ability, problem solving, mission writing, detailed instruction and enthusiasm. We do rely on the other squadrons brilliant YouTube videos for information and instruction. Most members have excellent up todate PC hardware with several owning home built pits. Many fly using VR where currently users = 3 x Primax Crystall, 3 x Quest 3, 2 x Quest 2. Others use Reverb G2 and Oculus Rift. Some members having 3D printers creating parts for their pits but have also helped other members on request. Our main achievements apart from flying missions created by the amazing Nebs is that we have completed Foothold and Pretense in Caucaus and Syria several times and use the excellent Liberation (currently version 10 or 11) with Olympus 1.03. Multiplayer Mission TGFB Dynamic is popular at the moment but currently Liberation provides a great challenge with Olympus running in the background providing support and variety. The membership of -=Shrek=-Squadron have decided the dates and venue for the squad BBQ & gathering. FRIDAY 17th JULY 2015 will see members arriving from all over the United Kingdom and Europe where we will enjoy renewing old friendships and making new ones. All this while taking in the spectacle of what is probably the worlds largest military air show, Royal International Air Tattoo RAF Fairford Gloucestershire. SATURDAY 18th JULY 2015 has swampies gathering for a "all Day & Night" chillout at OGREMAN's Swamp for yet more of the (by now well known) HEREFORD "swamp water" and BBQ. Expectations are already high for yet another great time for us all and it is looking like we might see the highest turnout ever for the squadron membership.
