About this Squadron

We fly the Blackshark 2 KA-50 and Warthog A10C, and now have installed DCS World as a simulation operating system. We use LAN/Internet for our server, Tactical Aviation Radio System. TARS plugin for Teamspeak3 for our communications. We normally fly under our own nationality, United Kingdom and United States of America. But any nationality is most welcome. All new pilots, can precipitate in our daily mission nights. We operate on Mondays, Wednsday and Fridays nights. And have a varied Operational missions. We are currently based at Nellis AFB, and use the Nevada training ranges, with JTAC Teams using CAS 9 line cards. We also have positions for, FC3/DCS. Combined Arms, for GROUND FORCE CMD/JTAC/OBSERVER and currently looking for, ATC/AWACS, and A10/Rotary pilots. If you think, you can cover any of the above criteria, please feel to contact us.
  1. What's new in this squadron
  2. The next mission is ready to go. As soon as Kenny gets well, we'll fly it. Here's the current SITREP: A SPEC OPS TASK FORCE MADE UP OF U.S. AND U.K. SF OPERATORS HAD BEEN TASKED WITH CONDUCTING COIN OPS IN THE EASTERN MOUNTAINS OF OPFORIA. A PLATOON-SIZED GROUP OF OPERATORS FROM THIS TASK FORCE, CALLSIGN "BLACK ADDER 1-1-D" STUMBLED UPON WHAT INTEL BELIEVES IS THE MAIN OPFOR STRONGHOLD IN THIS REGION. CONTACT WAS MADE AND THE SF PLATOON WAS FORCED TO RETROGRADE BACK TO THEIR PREPARED EXTRACTION POINT. OPFOR INSURGENTS ARE IN PURSUIT.
  3. Just a heads up. I've made some new informative posts over in the OCU forum.
  4. our site has been updated :music_whistling:http://justforlaughssimulation.weebly.com/
  5. Found yet another great discussion at SHQ. This one is regarding the collective trim that I'm sure none of has has been using. Will be giving it a go next time out. http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3689956/Is_it_even_possible_to_maintai.html#Post3689956
  6. With the USN frigate enroute and the their helo overhead, we rejoined as a flight and proceeded south along the coast where we encountered a northbound tanker. We identified the vessel as the C/C Elnya and reported to TOC who then verified it as one of the fragged target vessels and cleared us to fire. The vessel was sunk with a single Kh-25. During egress a southbound merchant was sighted, but fuel states did not allow for ID. Shortly thereafter, the #1 Ka-50 was brought down by AA fire from the shoreline. Pilot was KIA. Remaining aircraft returned safely. The #3 aircraft received significant damage from small caliber AAA and has been flagged as unserviceable. RUSSIAN SSK #1 RUSSIAN SSK#2
  7. 0202 AAR Flew ISO SF night infil aboard 2 x oil platforms. Both teams were successfully deployed aboard their respective targets, and they were able to secure them within about 10 minutes. During the infil, 2 of the gunships took AA fire from the shoreline south of Sochi harbor. Once established overhead, one of our Ka-50 pilots reported sighting a surfaced submarine near Rig #2. This was confirmed by SF team aboard visually. IMINT was gathered and is presented below. It was decided to call for additional support from USS Reuben James who immediately dispatched their SH-60 to the objective area. During this time, the transport helos egressed safely.

  9. 0202 SITUATION. THE INSURGENT LEADERSHIP MANAGED TO EVADE CAPTURE WHEN WE ASSAULTED THEIR HQ EARLIER TODAY. HOWEVER, A WEALTH OF INTEL WAS EXTRACTED FROM THE OBJECTIVE AREA, INCLUDING A LARGE DUMP OF COMPUTER DATA FROM WITHIN THE ENEMY HQ ITSELF. THE ANALYSTS BRIEF EXAMINATION OF THIS DATA REVEALED SOME OF THE INNER WORKINGS OF THE ORGANIZED INSURGENT GROUPS INCLUDING THEIR METHOD OF RESUPPLY. THE ANALYSTS BRIEF EXAMINATION OF THIS DATA REVEALED SOME OF THE INNER WORKINGS OF THE ORGANIZED INSURGENT GROUPS INCLUDING THEIR METHOD OF RESUPPLY. THEATER COMMAND HAS DEEMED THIS A TIME-SENSITIVE TARGET. THE TASK FORCE COMMANDER HAS ORDERED WE PROSECUTE THIS TARGET IMMEDIATELY IN ORDER TO DENY THE ENEMY FROM RE-SUPPLY FURTHER LIMITING THEIR WAR-MAKING CAPABILITY.
  10. Man that was a ball buster of a mission yesterday. :megalol: I'll make a single-player version of it for you guys. Friday we'll do a ME session if y'all want.
  11. 0201 SITUATION. Yesterday saw the realization that the Abkhazian and Ossetian dissident groups are far more coordinated and better equipped than first thought. During the first hours of having the coastal shipping lanes opened for traffic, three merchant vessels were attacked and sunk. Coalition air and sea forces were able to engage and destroy a number of hostile combatants including a large patrol craft, but themselves suffered a number of losses. The remainder of the day yesterday and all through the night, intel worked hard crunching data from numerous sources. A few hours ago, the location of the Abkhazian and Ossetian leadership has been confirmed. It is the Task Force Commander's intent assault this position with the objective of either capturing or killing the enemy leadership.
  12. I'll use this thread for information related to this campaign. Things with the ME are coming along real good now.
  13. In urban areas, fields of fire are restricted, landing areas are limited, and buildings provide cover for enemy forces to engage helicopters with near impunity. The presence of noncombatants, protected structures, and important resources and facilities normally demands careful weapons and munitions selection to avoid collateral damage. The proximity of enemy and friendly ground forces increases the risk of fratricide. Communications may be degraded by many structures. Thermal effects from paved surfaces and the channeling effects of buildings can cause wind conditions to vary significantly from point to point. Special, restrictive ROE should be expected. Standoff is key to aviation survival.
  14. Movement Techniques Traveling is used for moving rapidly over the battlefield when enemy contact is unlikely, or the situation requires speed to evade the enemy. All aircraft move at the same speed. Traveling overwatch is used when speed is essential and enemy contact is possible. Lead aircraft move constantly and trail aircraft move as necessary to maintain overwatch of lead. Bounding overwatch is used when expecting enemy contact. It is the slowest movement technique. It uses alternate or successive bounds, with lead aircraft moving to a position while trail aircraft overwatch. The overwatching aircraft then bound to a position ahead of the lead aircraft. Each aircraft bounds separately while the other overwatches the movement. Length of the bound depends on the terrain, visibility, and the effective range of the overwatching weapon system.
  15. Let's use this thread to post questions/concerns/info regarding ways we can better support one another on the battlefield. First up, the 3 basic movements. Remember, we only get 1,000 characters per post, so if you have some info you want to post and it's larger than 1,000, just split it up into separate replies.
  16. I believe like Megan Fox, is goes both ways. BUT! I believe the blue pit would be in the majority as it's a standard throughout the Soviet...I mean...Russian Air Forces (pardon the Freudian slip there). :smilewink:
  17. wicked... just out of curiosity, what is the real color of the ka50 cockpit.
  18. Checkout these replacement textures for BS2. I'm going Blue! http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=94081
