For those who are looking at youtube vids and still wondering yay or nay, I am in process of making a two part video review of WoP. Part 1 will be exploring the GUI of WoP (it's rendering now as I type). Part 2 will be inflight footage from the cockpit in simulation mode (no external views, no HUD info, etc). I put a couple of aircraft through the paces and explore the overall look, feel, and immersion of the game. These should be up on youtube (or vimeo - still deciding) within the next 12 hours or so. Be advised though, I am not the expert pilot/narrator that Ironhand is nor do I possess the gifted video editing of Glowing Amraam. Just trying to give some info to the community. A community that, since I am part of, I know is a bit timid on new titles. Especially when the title seemingly appeared out of nowhere like WoP did. Hopefully these two videos will give you some of the info you've been looking for :)

OMG! Wow. I found something on p3dm website: This is how DCS should look like soon :D and it's all about texture resolution, terrain mesh LOD and lighting (...and your video card) ...or level of detail on terrain and grond textures like here:

И еще один минус в моделях то, что вокруг подбитой техники нет мертвых, обугленных насекомых, попавших в огонь при горении танка... Их разброс вокруг желательно смоделировать в режиме реального времени. Это очень важный момент.

For heaven's sake, anyone actually cares about this thing of saying "he or she"? It's just ridiculous, specially when there's a non-native English speaker involved, as things might be slightly different in other languages. Since I've heard about this "inclusive language" stuff I want to kill the bastard who created it. You're only not included if you don't want to be, and no "he or she" is going to change a damn about it. Any of the ladies here ever felt depressed because someone didn't insert "or she" in the sentence? No wonder men like to tell jokes about feminists... Vekkinho, I wouldn't mind it. Here are few screenshots from MP session couple of days ago (i think it was Rob222 server). It was free flight training mission, everybody had good ping (40-80), so we all agried to try flying traffic pattern in formation. We didn't look much like a good helicopter display team, but it was great fun!
