1. Thanks mate I will try. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
2. Yeah I’m in the learning phase with DCS, still figuring out all the systems. Most of my flights are actually on pause and reading the manual so not much fun anyway. And in any case I was a little bit disappointed by the whole experience. I can’t cope with the compromises on graphics that come with VR. I guess when I will start doing missions the more immersive effect of VR will change things. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
3. My Reverb went back to HP for the dead pixels and they agreed for a refund. I think I’m better off waiting for the G2 now? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
4. Signing in as I haven't found a way to operate the position lights knob and strobe switch without advancing the throttle to MIL with full brakes on, which is not an elegant solution...
5. See? We have two things in common if not the FPS: racing bikes and hifi cans! :-) I wanted to use my Focal cans but couldn’t find a way to remove the bloody headset’s headphones How did you manage? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
6. Motomouse don’t you think your approach is a touch too judgemental? You talk about “poor” simmers like if they got it the wrong way and you carry the only truth. I think you have more fun sim flying without spending too much time in optimising your settings. Someone else finds it of fundamental importance to get the best image/fluidity before truly enjoying the simulation and are ready to spend hours and hours in the process. Whatever floats your boat man, peace and love! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

8. I tried, it doesn’t work. With my system at least. As much as I push PD or increase over sampling in SteamVR the benefit on jaggies is nowhere near the one I get with MSAA. I can run MSAA 4X with decent image quality settings and PD 1.0/oversampling 100% and gli get timing below 20ms in more simple scenarios and max 25 when flying low altitude on the woods. But you are totally right, the said truth is that VR consumer technology is not mature yet. Well at least not for my expectations anyway Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
9. Jaggies and shimmering are the most annoying effects to my eyes. I managed to reduce the first with 4X MSAA but no way to cut down the second. It’s particularly visible On the edge of bright shapes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
10. Same here, I hate it. And I wouldn’t know how to post a screenshot considering it’s visible only through the headset lenses. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
11. Maybe a ZX Spectrum would work better with DCS Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

13. Ah! I thought it was a setting in SteamVR... Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
14. I can't seem to find this setting (MASK SIZE), I am running SteamVR 1.11.13.
15. I installed the shaders mod now but used DCS only with the monitor as my headset is on it's way back to HP. No significant change in FPS. I noticed however that the canopy reflection has almost disappeared and so have the sunbeams... If the mod is about cutting little things that make the sim realistic than I wonder if it makes sense.
16. I am going to return my Reverb for the dead pixels issue. I hope they will not come back saying that it's "within design characteristics"
17. Thanks. So basically the only thing is abilitating the "motionReprojectionMode" : "motionvector" That I have done already. Good.
18. It's a picture, it won't work. Or maybe I am missing something, which is extremely likely :music_whistling:
19. Thanks, the only thing I wasn't able to read is the defaultvr.settings file, any chance to share the text with me? Sorry to bother you mate
20. Thanks everyone, very useful. Just one thing, could you check question 1) WMR for Steam - Visuals (High or Very High?) My system seems to be very sensitive to this, if I select Very High i get immediately a heavy drop in frame rate. While it seems to handle better increases in pixel density. I am running PD @1.2 and I am constantly below 20ms except if I fly very low over trees.
21. May I ask if there is a place where I can find the users settings with regards to: 1) WMR for Steam - Visuals (High or Very High?) 2) Screenshot of DCS graphics settings 3) Did you enable MotionReprojectionMode editing the default.vrsettings file? If not, would anyone mind sharing? As there are so many variables and one life only I was planning to study those settings along with the hardware of the user (usually in signature) to cut down the variables...
22. Thats interesting. May I ask you how you would proceed to reach the best combination of the two? I’m not asking to give me a value as this will depend on the specific hardware but just a method to reach the optimum. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
23. So far I kept PD always at 1 and last flight was with 150% and MSAA 2x. With this setting the picture quality is barely palatable and I notice a loss of fluidity only when rolling fast or moving the head quickly. Overall I have to say that I am a bit underwhelmed by the picture quality, I wish someone had told me "forget the monitor resolution" before I spent the money... Obviously in VR everything else is much much better, landings are easier, following a target is easier, and so on...
24. HP's Reverb VR Pro Headset I’m trying to do some testing playing with oversampling and MSAA and I will get back to you. What I noticed so far is three things: 1) I can definitely see what looks like Screen Door effect (very evident to my eyes), like a very thin mesh covering the image if you look with attention. Less visible during the action. 2) the edges of objects being “alive”. Despite the high resolution of the display the edges present some level of aliasing and the zig zag profile is moving, imagine like an escalator moving, even if I pause the game. For some reasons this is accentuated in very bright lighting when everything looks like shiny edges in motion, kind of sparkling. 3) I see two dead pixels, one very small the other bigger, maybe it’s 2 or 3 dead pixels, not one. The position is on the far left so not very annoying but still visible if you look for it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
25. Thanks, I will play with MSAA and resolution (one at a time) and see how it goes. Another interesting detail is that on Steam Vr settings my standard resolution (100%, no upsampling) is 2212x2164, while in all YouTube tutorials people mention the vertical refresh rate as 2160...
