I see after months ED has failed to put the effort into fixing even the most basic details. Square fire.. really ? Selling my serial if someone wants to pick up this POS bundle on the cheap. $30 for BS, BS2 upgrade, A10 and P51. I will pass over my whole account to you.

Just wondering if ED could possibly offer more shapes for fire effect other than rectangle like a square or maybe a triangle ? Hexagon might be cool ! While your at it could you look into maybe dropping a few more fps during gunfire ? :thumbup:

I think it has to do with the trail as well because it happens when opponent rounds shoot past me, for example if hes right on my tail and numerous rounds fly by and are not even hitting my plane. To me this is not acceptable in a software package claiming to be a Digital Combat Simulation. The slow down takes away from the realism and ruins the experience. Fix the crap or remame to DS.. Digital Simulation. With the exception of square fire :huh: ( look out window when you lose a wing or go external view) and the FPS drop mentioned its a nice simulation but when paying premium price for a single aircraft you would expect these things to be right or at the very least be addressed in a timely manner. I recorded multiple scenarios of the fire and frame rate issue and will post it on youtube so at least some will be aware. I definitely would not have purchased if I had known it would not be addressed by now.

Fix the drop in FPS when firing guns. This happens on all systems I have seen this run on and all are high end gaming systems.

Address this FPS drop already !

@Echo38.. I don't think anyone in the group I mentioned got to where they are by being narrow minded :thumbup: I have noticed something else while flying P51 dogfight mission. Whenever I shoot down the other P51 I can never locate the crash site although I know where he went in. No smoke.. no debris.

To each his own I guess. All I know is out of our group, which consists of pilots from EAB , a Space Shuttle Commander and current test pilot for several ongoing projects, not one was interested once I mentioned it was just the aircraft. I guess since most of them fly regularly we were looking for something else than to just fly around. Still knowing what the module is now and that its sole purpose is the P51 I can see how it would appeal to some but I also would expect attention to every detail including effects. The fire model is simply a joke and there are performance issues.

I have noticed some performance hit when firing guns near ground and while there are more powerful rigs out there I do not think I should be seeing the hit Im seeing. I5 @ 4.5 ghz, 8gb ram, 580 gtx. Also running SSD and the load time for the AI dogfight in P51 sure takes long. Not to keen on the fire animation for damaged plane either. Looks very much like it was just thrown in there to having something. Having said that.. the AI dogfight is a challenge and speed management is critical. I have defeated him twice, once I went directly into an inverted flat spin and died shortly after him :)

Flew the P51 for first time today. I like it but there something I noticed immediately is the poor, dare I say half a##, effect for when the plane is on fire. Its a horrible rectangle shaped flame. Honestly IL2 does a better job and I really expected better from a single plane, premium priced module.

It was selected by default as far as I know. I unchecked it and that did fix the problem. Question now is was that option in the version prior to the update because I have always had all the options in that list checked and never had that issue. Thanks for the tip

I am seeing a delay that was not there prior to the latest patch and while its not as long as you stated something has changed.

Started DCS World yesterday and in prompted for an update. Now when I start a mission the screen flip flops between desktop and game a couple of times and you see a windows message about color depth being changed. Once back to game screen it has lost focus so you must alt tab through open apps to get focus back to DCS World. Any way to revert back ? Currently at 1.2.2.7122.

Im done with it. Closed the ticket. Out of the 3 I had 2 still should have been active but only 1 was. Another belonging to another member of our group is giving him trouble. We decided its not worth the hassle so only 1 of us will have the game. ED needs to reconsider their copy protection method. This delay just resulted in us not purchasings 2 BS2 Upgrades and 6 modules.

I can appreciate the accuracy but some of the wording in their descriptions would have you expect certain things. Like mission generator that allows missions as long or short as you like, and cooperative multiplayer. Those may be facts but they leave out that those missions are not in the era of the P51. Im assuming that is the case anyway. If Im wrong and it actually does create era accurate situations please tell me and I will purchase it. Regardless.. $40 for an add on aircraft ? I could accept that if the aircraft falls somewhere in the era of the rest of the simulator.

I never said it was hidden. I discovered it by the posts in the forum referring to tickets unanswered for extended periods. I had no trouble finding the ticket option. I know I have not used all my activations. The only thing I can figure is I have had 2 computers over that period and Im now on my third. Ticket ID 17128 .. I appreciate your help and did not mean to be insulting. EDs activation process has been an issue since the beginning and has held us up on more than one occassion.
