All the servers listed for download are way to slow. Anyone have a link to an alternate download site?

No these are all English versions. Point is... a readme with a note should be linked rather than people having to dig through a forum to locate the instructions that are buried in the second post of a topic that is not even labeled 1.02.

Still its an ED product and Im certain they still benefit from sells on Steam, as such they would still be instrumental in making it happen, even if it were just a fee to cover the amount Steam gets. What about compatibility with 1.02 patch. Will the Steam version still work with flaming cliffs, etc. All stuff ED should be able to answer, or maybe it has already been answered and I missed it. Im currently held up on installing because I do not want to go out and buy the Steam version if there is going to be issues between playing the different versions with full 1.02 online mulitplayer functionality.. ie my friends with the downloaded DCS BS and Flaming Cliffs vs a Steam version with Flaming Cliffs.

Is there no direct answer to the topic? If you cannot activate DCS download on steam now, are there plans to allow this in the future? I have purchased 2 copies of the download. One for me and one for a friend. I also have recommended the game to quite a few others who now have the DCS download. If there are no plans to make this an option then what about compatibility between the Steam version and others ? Will updates hit each version at the same time or will there be delays ? My plan is to sell my DCS version and activations at a loss and get the Steam version but it would be nice to know if transferring over is going to be an option.

Wow.. I can't believe you guys still have not created a link on the patch download page to the instructions for installing this patch. Include a readme or something! I have 4 friends who have attempted to patch and you have no mention of any special steps required. There is no outstanding thread in the forum that is easily located. The most outstanding is the 1.02 patch sticky and all it says is the patch is available.

I removed all files in the locations you mentioned. Should I just delete the whole Eagle Dynamics and KA-50 sub? I deleted the files located there.

Heres a screenshot. I did not change any options on the new install so if that is the problem its left over from the previous install.

I followed the instruction in the forum for installing the patch. I uninstalled BS. I removed any files in the appdata locations show in the thread. I installed BS 1.0 then installed the 1.02 patch. Upon starting the game I get.. ERROR ..\blackshark\modules\me_options.lua in line 2064: attempt to concatenate field '?' (a nil value) among 7 other stack ..\blackshark\ error messages You guys really need to work on your patch process. Since this "warning" was buried in the forum I did install the patch over 1.01c on my first attempt, then afterwards found the warning and followed the instructions. The instructions for installing this patch, which warn it cannot be installed over the 1.01c, should have been included in a readme along with the patch. Something simple developers have been doing for years. At the very least the warning should be posted on the download page right under the patch link. You should not have to come to the forum and search for this information.

My native desktop resolution and the resolution I have set in the options for the sim are the same.

Don't see how that is going to help but here it is. The problem is its putting the helis in bays when it should be putting them on the runway. That happens regardless of the static objects being there or not. convoy2.miz

I tried both take off from runway and take off from parking. Both situations place each heli in the bay with an airplane. I ended up having to delete the airplanes to get it to work as Grimes suggested. Seems they could have done quite a bit better on the editor.

Thanks.. I actually figured that out. Now my problem is this... Waypoint 1 is set to .. takeoff from runway and it locks that waypoint directly on the runway. Problem is it starts each of us in a bay that has a huge jet in it and the rotors immediately hit the jet and destroy our helis. I see no way to precisely position the helis.

Apparently Im missing some crucial setting in the editor or perhaps you cannot modify included missions. I simply want to make the Convoy Hunt Mission a 2 player MP level. It already has the player controlled heli of course and you have your wingman. I thought it would be as simple as changing the wingman heli to "player" but it will not let you. I even removed the wingman and added a new heli with its own waypoints that match the default player heli waypoints. It would only let me select one of the helis as player. What do I need to do to modify this level so it is 2 player MP?

Thanks... I will check out the bios settings and other suggestions. No firewall or virus scanner meaning we did a fresh install and did not install them soley to rule them out as the problem while installing the game. The system normally has them installed.

My friend purchased BS recently so he could hook up with me another friend, who also bought the game. After downloading the files and attempting installed he receives an NSIS failure, which after research states its due to corrupt files. We verified the files were good by using the same downloaded files to test install on another system, which it worked fine. Both systems are XP so UAC is not the issue. Further research shows a known problem with the installer and dfi lanparty ut nf4 however no solution is provided. We have tried direct download to the issue machine, download on a different maching, testing install and then transferring the known good download to the desktop.. All result in the NSIS error. So its fairly obvious there is a conflict between the installer and the issue machine. In addition the issue machine was formatted, fresh XP install with SP3, latest drivers, no virus protection or firewall running including the XP built on features. The best we have been able to accomplish is installing on a good machine but not activating. Copying the Eagle Dynamics folder from that machine to the issue machine, running and activating. This actually worked. We then tried installing the 1.01c update on the issue machine, again the same NSIS error. We took that same 1.01c update file and upated the laptop without a problem. Again we copied the updated Eagle Dynamics folder from the good machine to the issue machine. This time it did not work and he gets a DSC.exe error message after trying to start a mission. After the error message he gets kicked back to the debriefing screen. We have tried other measures such as deactivating the non working updated game and reactivating it. In all he has used up 2 activations and 1 deactivate.
