Meaning of the Last Digit in Waypoint Start Time?
ferriwheel replied to ferriwheel's topic in Mission Editor
Nevermind after a little testing I realized that it is the number of days into the battle. Even though setting it to zero has the same effect as setting it to one except that it shifts the day count for that particular unit by 1 making day 1 for units that spawn on day 0 the same day as day 2 for units that spawn on day 1... I guess it means that ED needs to change the spawn time of those Leopard 2's to 10:00:00/1. -
What is the significance of the last digit (the one behind "/") in way point start time in mission editor? Is it a count of days? I've been examining the first mission file of the Su-25 campaign, the target Leopard 2 column's start time vary from unit to unit causing some units to not spawn at all. Also some are due to spawn at 9:00??

I don't think at the moment it's possible to switch on PAC in A-10A which makes the cannon horribly less accurate than its reputation with the new flight model. I haven't tested this in DCS but I think in theory the spread of the cannon reduces as you increase airspeed. But since A-10A is generally employed at low airspeeds, it's not a viable solution to the problem unlike its eastern counter part. Has it been mentioned anywhere that this problem might be fixed in a future update? As an A/C that's designed and built around the cannon, it's a real shame to not be able to fire it as accurately as it should.

I didn't spend any time in the SU-25 (w/o the T) yet but I thought it had AFM too.

I have noticed this as well. Must be a bug.
-
Interesting arguement.

I don't know if anybody already noticed this. But if you break lock intentionally after launching an AIM-7, the missile makes a big (at least a rather noticeable) direction change and then goes ballistic. Shouldn't it go ballistic directly? Just curious if this behavior is intended.

FC3 F-15C Campaign Mission 2
ferriwheel replied to ferriwheel's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
After many attempts I realized that the early warning station needs to be destroyed for me to pass the mission. However, I simply couldn't get the F-16's to engage the EWS even though they were carrying a total of 4 HARM's and the EW was always visible on my RWR. Regardless of the timing of my instructing them to push or how quickly I dispatch the incoming Mig's. Most of the time they simply following their route and RTB with full loads of weapons... So my solution was to strafe the EWS myself which worked because there was no SAM around willing to engage me (another mystery because they were definitely there)... Any attempt from ED to modify this mission a bit? The file for this mission is fc3_f15c_mission1.miz (because the first sight-seeing mission in the campaign is mission0) or something like that. -
I've been unable to pass the 2nd mission in the F-15C campaign... I radioed the pair of F-16's to push as soon as they were on station and proceed to engage the incoming Mig-29A's. After downing both Mig's I joined up with the F-16's, at which time the F-16 wing man had already launched both his HARM's while the lead didn't launch any and they were already RTB. I accompanied the pair all the way to their home field and waited for both to land before I proceeded to land in my own base. Did I do anything wrong? Why am I not progressing in the campaign? Any help will be much appreciated! Thanks!

Gun and unguided rocket training is driving me insane

I'm experiencing the same problem. Sounds like a easy fix. Hopefully it'll be included in the next update. -
Tutorial Triggering Mechanism Corrupted After Latest Update
ferriwheel replied to ferriwheel's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Thanks Skall. Your earlier post was really thorough. I'll head over there and try to bump that thread up again. See if it'll gather enough attention that the fix gets distributed in the next update. -
Hey guys, After the latest update, I can't seem to trigger certain event in several tutorials. This happens when the instructor asks me to turn to a certain waypoint and when I do, nothing happens, even though my altitude and airspeed were both as instructed and I was heading directly to the specified waypoint, which had also been chosen as the steering point. This has happened to me in at least two tutorials and the problem is definitely reproducebale. These are: AGM-65 Maverick Deployment (when the instructor tells me to turn towards the target range WP) and Dumb Bomb Deployment (after the first dive trial and the instructor tells me to climb to 6000ft and head towards WP2). Has anybody else noticed this?

Something to do with the release of Windows 8?

Did ED identify some serious bugs with FC3 or was the Sep. annoucement a commerical tactic? It's almost the end of Oct. Are they secretly working on a clickable cockpit for the F-15C?:music_whistling: AFM for the F-15C would be even better!

Thanks guys. As long as the behavior of the seeker head is what ED intended it to have, I'm happy to adopt all the techniques above to cope with it. It's just my intuition that this probably is not how Mavericks function in real life.
-
My apologies if this topic has been discussed somewhere in the forum but I'm really not sure if this is to be expected. When I try to lock on a target using a Maverick seeker head, I would put the crosshair in the proximity of the target and ground stabilize it (TMS Down). Then I would try to refine my aim by slewing the crosshair closer to target but the slewing seems to cancel the ground stabilization and I usually end up losing the target all together from the FOV... In other sims that I've been playing, the ground stabilization seems to work hand in hand with any further slewing making aiming much easier. Not sure which better resembles reality. Thanks!

Nothing yet, been 3 days for me now. Apparently it's happening with a lot of the A-10 purchases if not all. Major bummer... -

Sorry, the previously posted ticket number (16152) was for a previous inquiry from me (which still hasn't been answered by the way). The correct ticket number for the missing A-10C S/N is 16447 (just updated it in my previous post too). Thanks! -

+1 for no S/N issued upon purchase. I purchased DCS A-10C English Download Version a couple of hours ago. The transaction was instantaneous but no serial number was ever issued to me... Mood killer... Searched everywhere on the website as well as the forum but was not able to resolve it from my end so I submitted a support ticket (ticket # 16447). Eagerly waiting for response from ED. Thanks! -
