  1. I seriously doubt this system was ever very useful. certainly limited in range between A/C and GCI and information updates for anything at low alt.

This is a very, very useful system..what makes you think this is not useful?

The way I see it, not giving away your position to the enemy is a HUGE advantage in air combat!

  2. What ED could add is that when you put TDC over the target and the target is picked up by an EWR to get the clear Altitude and Range information without locking. The speed and the steering circle are vague in the manual since I think they are assigned by the controller.

That would be a very nice addition! Gives more teeth to the MiG-29. ED, I hope you are listening and hope you implement it. I doubt it would be a lot of work? Would it?

  3. ED has confirmed a few times that they want to do full fidelity russian modern jets, but are unable due to russian laws concering them on military/operational security issues.

They simply cannot do said modules full fidelity legally at this time.

As I said, can you link me to a source as to where they said that. I tried searching but could not find anything. If you have a source, that would be most helpful.

  4. Problem is, that Russian Government is not that generous with letting Russian Companies develop modules of 4th Gen Russian Fighter Aircraft for publicy available flight sims ;). As stated by ED on multiple occasions that's the reason we will not see a full fidelity Flanker or a Fulcrum anytime soon

Can you give me a source as to where ED explicitly state that please? As far as I know, the only thing ED stated was they preferred doing Western aircraft because it was more commercially successful.

  5. Finally F-16, the true killing badass. I expect short life of Russian birds against F-16, F-18 with unstoppable AIM-120 and F-14 with daddy long legs AIM-54C lol :D

Don't worry, we REDFOR pilots use superior tactics to defeat capitalist aircraft. :D:megalol:

Jokes aside, looks like ED is going to complete the list of all American or BLUEFOR aircraft while ED being a Russian company, don't have even a single DCS level REDFOR modern fighter.

Looking forward to the MiG-23MLA from RAZBAM. Hope they deliver that in 2019 or at least 2020.

  6. Just some feedback for 104th, you may have forgotten to change the ping limit for the event. The ping limit was 300 for the event, (one of the reasons I signed up), but the server was set to 250 and hence me and another buddy of mine got kicked from the server for having pings above 250 but below 300. I was a constant 260-ish with my buddy around 280.

I tried asking the organizers, but they were too busy with the event, that they bother.

  7. Reading some of the threads on Heatblur's section regarding the release dates, I see that Heatblur's marketing team seem to retain that elusive, pain in the back* quality that seems to drive some of their customers nuts right from the MiG-21 days.

I feel that pain, I was once on this road with the MiG and I told myself never again. Glad I didn't get tempted by the promises.

  8. Yes, the speeds attained above was till motor burn out. From my experience, R-27ER burn time is around 10 secs. 530D I'm not sure.

I think most people compare the 530D to the R-27R, which is fine as they are the same period missiles.

  9. The 530 is the fastest fox1 (probably even vs fox3) missile in the game.

Nope, R-27ER is the fastest missile in game.

    R-27ER speed at 13000 meters and launch platform at Mach 1.5 ~ 5200 km/hr

    Super530D speed at 13000 meters and launch platform at Mach 1.5 ~ 4230 km/h

Test was done in a standard DCS day at 12 noon.

  10. As GG says, if there is an F-14 radar on your RWR, notch/defend against the F-14. By doing so, you naturally defend against the AIM-54C.

AA missiles of the "active seeking" variety will only be detected once their radar spots you. Usually, in an Western aircraft, you get an "M" warning on the RWR
