  1. Ok so you're comparing 45hz against 90hz. When I say I can keep under 11ms with SS at 100% with lower PD, that is at 90hz, 90fps, not 45hz. 45mhz with motion smoothing sure your target for no reprojects is 22ms, but 45hz with interpolated frames is not buttery smoothness, not even close to a 90hz <11ms. I like the thought of standardized settings to test/compare against, but there's no benchmark test in DCS that I'm aware of, so tough to do. For comparisons sake I can tell you my 3dmark timespy score (free online demo anyone can do), timespy score=15859, graphics score=18362. This is stock 3080 ftw3 ultra with 5.0ghz i5 10600k on ddr4 4400@18-18-18-38. With 18362 timespy graphics score you will still not be at a visually appealing level in DCS at 90hz while under 11ms. Yes you could easily stay under 22ms for a 45hz motion smoothed experience, but for those who prefer 90hz under 11ms with acceptable visuals, 3080 won't get you there, though I don't blame the card here...
  2. I've never run motion smoothing, I did turn it on just now to test, it does kind of clear up some jerkiness, but it's still 15+ms response time. But same as the other guy, I'd be curious to see advanced frame timing graphs and what your SS and PD are set to? EDIT, you're probably running shader mods I'm guessing, so it may not be apples to apples on comparing performance. This is all with 0 shader mods / config file tweaking on my end.
  3. This is without any shader mod stuff? I would love to see a screenshot of your steamvr advanced timing graph and what SS and PD you are at.
  4. Some feedback for those looking to upgrade their GPU, I have a 3080 and as noted by others it's not going to give you under 11ms at 90hz, even on simple scenarios. I have a 10600k at 5.0ghz all core and getting 0 cpu miss, so not CPU bound at all. I can get 90hz under 11ms if settings are way down in DCS across the board, with 1.0 PD and like 50% steam SS, which is of course aliased and blurry as hell. With DCS settings and steamvr set to decent visuals to actually read cockpit stuff it's still 15-18ms timing I'd say and a bunch of reprojects. Flying in straight line it's ok, but any quick maneuvers or looking around it does nauseate with the skips. Seeing other 3090 ppl also not even hitting under 11ms and 90hz kind of confirms this game is just not optimized. I may try playing with the shader mod to see how that affects things, haven't gone down that road yet, but just an FYI for y'all that a new next gen GPU will not give you crisp visuals under 11ms for 90hz... though I guess if you're doing 45hz with a limit of 22ms then it would be able to handle that, based on my 15-18ms timing which is with high textures/shadows, 150% SS and 1.5 PD, 8x AF, it's pretty, but choppy at 90hz. <EDIT> This is with a vive pro, your results may vary on a more positive note if you have a headset with lower native resolution. But with any vive pro, index, reverb g2 level headset these GPUs can't handle 90hz/11ms on DCS.
