  1. Hey Badger, no worries. Understand 100%. It did help. Thanks! This worked!
  2. It helps a lot! Thank you, Badger. I like to think I'm not such a horrible pilot. I at least know how to operate all the systems. This was driving me nuts. I'm actually glad it's a glitch if that makes sense. I'll try your pitbull suggestion tonight and and if not I'll just wait patiently for the patch. Thank you!
  3. Badger I am LOVING the campaign so far! I've played the entire Ford series and this is definitely your best work, worth every penny. I hate to ask, but after a dozen times through losing the mission in the same place...well I'm stuck in Mission 13 and it's obvious I need a pointer or two. POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT I'm having an awful time finding the black sharks...much less shooting them down. I have never been able to locate them on radar and the one time I was able to find them using wide area search on the HUD they flared both my 9Xs right into the drink and sent a Vikhr up my tailpipe. Can you, or any one else who may have already gotten through this mission, give me any tips? It would be most apricated. Thank you!
  4. Hi Badger, I have really enjoyed Serpent's Head 2. I've learned a lot about the Hornet over the last couple of weeks, but after 3-4 nights of nothing but frustration I've decided I need a little help... I am in Mission 10, which I have flown about 8-10 times now, at least, I'm stuck and I know I don't what my problem is. I don't know if it's a glitch or my inexperience. (SPOILER ALERT) I get the waypoint coordinates for the rendezvous from Overlord after tanking. Colt and I roll in on the target and I start an orbit about 9ish nm out. I waypoint designate the target area, wait for Snake to show up, Snake shows up, I target his vehicle using point track, the meeting ends, we get authorization to prosecute, I roll in, on cue release my LGBs and Snake drives cooly away while Waypoint 4 dies a violent death. No matter what I do...my ordnance always strikes Waypoint 4, not Snake's car. No matter what I've tried, all while tracking Snake's vehicle, locked up in point track brackets, the bombs always strike the waypoint and not the locked target. See attached. I mean, I'm not the most experienced pilot, but to make sure I know what I'm doing (because it takes SO LONG to get to this point in the mission just to fail ) I've practiced this in a training mission of my own and have no problem at all striking moving targets at night in the exact same fashion. I've confirmed the FLIR is on, the LTD/R switch is set to ARM, I'm in AUTO lase mode, the code is correct on the bombs---and all the while I'm tracking Snake's vehicle...yet Waypoint 4 catches all the fire. I'm stumped. Have you heard of any issues regarding this part of the mission? For reference I am using 2.7 Open Beta. Thank you! F this waypoint in particular.mp4
  5. The "show models" button at the bottom of the screen. Always read the manuals. Mea culpa.
  6. I'm not sure if this is because I'm still fairly green with DCS or if this is a genuine 2.7 open beta bug in the Mission Editor: CVNs are invisible on the map. Not in game, in the editor. I cannot see the deck in order to place player aircraft, static objects, anything. All I can see is a blue dot. Am I missing a checkbox somewhere or has any else noticed this in 2.7?
  7. Hi all, Sorry I haven't had a chance to log on and respond to anyone. I do not have pluginsEnabled.lua in my Config folder and yet this issue persists. I've been working with the guys from ED's helpdesk (who are fantastic by the way) and just like Bignewy says they think they've found the issue. It is a genuine bug and they hope to fix it in an up coming patch. Woo hoo! Sorry I didn't respond man. Life gets in the way of flying sometimes. ;) It is a real bug and ED says they're going fix it in a upcoming patch.
  8. Thank you for the suggestion, Big. I have actually done all that. I even went further and created a new admin account on my machine, logged in as the "New" me, logged into DCS, checked the settings, started up a ED created mission (training mission 1 for the Viper) - everything is STILL in metric. No matter what I do Airdrome and tower data are still in metric. All the weather and location data when a match or a session starts is in metric. This is driving me nuts. I finally created a ticket with ED and they are looking at it but so far they have no clue. This makes no sense at all.
  9. I tried a repair, I tried a cleanup and then a repair, and then I tried renaming the DCS folder under saved games to DCS.old and letting the program recreate itself. I changed nothing for the new clean setup. I didn't even change the video settings and in windowed mode went straight to a ED training session for the F-16. All the Airdrome data is STILL in metric.
  10. I don't have Syria. The only additional map I have is Persian Gulf, but yes it happens on both maps, and no it didn't used to, but it does now.
  11. Art I appreciate what you're saying, but "it's been broken for a long time" is not a solution. It still doesn't explain why some people see feet, but I only see meters, even with all the correct boxes checked. There HAS to be a fix for this even if it's a file that need editing. I mean it USED to give me feet instead of meters. The tower USED to give me windspeed in knots. There has to be a reason why that changed and a way to undo that change.
  12. I don't think so man. I think that's just where the cursor was resting. If you look at the metric values for the airfield in the first screenshot those should be listed in feet according to what I have selected. It's not and I know other folks have imperial values for Airdrome data listed because I've seen screenshots where they do. That also doesn't explain why suddenly the tower is feeding me data in metrics and not in knots. Attached is a sample of someone else's F10 values and they are in Imperial figures. This is very frustrating.
  13. Hi all. Very much a newbie question I'm afraid. Sorry. I seem to be stuck in metric values. The Airdrome Data on my F-10 map is in metric, not imperial, and the tower gives me data in metric as well (wind direction in meters per second etc.) I have selected Imperial values in the settings menu and on the mission editor and yet nothing changes. Is this normal? If not has anyone seen this before? Am I missing a checkbox or is there a file that needs to be edited somewhere? Any suggestions anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
