  1. So, the result of my "investigations" are: Simply maneuver her within the limits. You were right. A damaged gear/bay door is only repairable on the ground (engines off), not midflight. All weapons are also blocked by the system and not deployable, target laser included. Hope this helps some other guys in the future, too. Thanks for your help!
  2. Hi, first of all, thanks for the quick responses! And glad to hear that I didn't forget anything and, obviously, I did everything right as far as I could (except for the T/O-overspeeding, which messed everything up). --> Unfortunately I don't. On the upcoming weekend, I might have the possibility to simulate the same scenario. Then I'll track it or make screenshots. --> Makes sense - same as BIGNEWY wrote. So, better being careful with the speed. --> That's been my thought as well. That the damaged undercarriage blocks the use of weapons. Furthermore I didn't even try to release the GBU16's in any other way (e.g. CCIP), but RTB as soon as the laser couldn't be activated. Because that'd proof that you can't deploy any weapon AT ALL with an undercarriage damage - and not just the laser arming. I'll let you know about the results of my next trails. Always happy landings.
  3. Hi guys, recently I practiced the use of the TGP in combination with A/G lasing and bombing (GBU 16). My "Mission Briefing" was quite simple: Carrier Take-off -- Target designation via TGP -- Lasing -- Bombing -- RTB, Case 1 Recovery -- Refueling/Rearming -- 2nd Carrier T/O -- Target designation via TGP -- Lasing -- Bombing -- RTB The first bombing-round was a success and went as planned. The problems came on the 2nd run: After the 2nd carrier T/O I got the gear-retraction warning - that constant "boob-boob-boob-boob-...." and the gear lever lights red. That's probably because I gained too quick too much speed after the catapult launch and the gear wasn't fully retracted as I passed >250 KIAS. I continued my flight anyway and got to the bombing area. On Arrival, FLIR was active and working, Master on ARM, A/G-Mode, Target designated, but my LTD/R switch for lasing didn't want to stay in the "ON" position. Here are my 2 questions now: - How do I get rid of the gear-retraction-warning midflight/airborne? The procedure: "Slowing down <200 KIAS -- Fully extend landing gear -- Retract gear again" didn't help. After retraction the warning sound (boob-boob-boob...) continued as before. Do you have any tips for me?? - Could it be that BECAUSE OF the ongoing gear-retraction-warning I was unable to activate my LTD/R on the second run? Do they relate to each other? Or did I miss anything else to activate?? Really appreciate your help! In case you need any further info just let me know. Cheers Tom
  4. Hi Guys, I'm a non-TrackIR player in DCS. So, I have to find a way to slew my camera on my HOTAS, effectively. I fly with the Logitech X-56 Rhino and trying to set up my controls (for the F/A-18C). I'd prefer to use the so-called "C-Stick" on the HOTAS with the JOY_RX/Y axis to look around. In the settings menu of "axis commands", there's not much to choose for moving the camera. So, after editting I tried to look around and it "worked" so far. BUT, the camera centers automatically after letting go of the stick - it doesn't stay there where I was looking at. E. g. What I want to achieve: I want to look left (on the cockpits console for example): So, I move the stick to the left -> camera slews to the left -> I let go the stick -> Now I want the camera to stay at looking left (on the console to click sth. with the mouse cursor) -> Then, I move my stick to the right (to see the HUD again) -> the camera slews back again to the center. Do you have a tip for me to realise the above mentioned procedure. Or can you tell me an alternative camera setting? Thank you very much for helping Regards Tom - Wngmn_Tombo -
