  1. Thank you @DeltaMike @edmuss @speed-of-heat and others for your feedback. Jitter is still an issue. I could not find an efficient method to lock to 45fps without MR. I reset my Steam version back to SteamVR while leaving the standalone in OXR. Despite jitter which as mentioned I'm still experiencing in OXR, there's simply no way I can go back to SteamVR at this point. The "out of the box" sharpness and clarity is winning me over. For now I'll live with world/ground stutter I suppose. I have a couple of questions: 1. Should I continue to pursue locking to 45fps somehow? (I'm not running nor planning to run MR at this point) - having an RTX card I don't have the Chill utility and I believe that doing so in the OXR Toolkit only applies when using MR 2. This one is unrelated to OXR - is there a mod or utility allowing me to see my desktop in VR without quitting DCS? Finally: as I'm struggling to optimize VR for DCS it dawned on me that it's best to treat this journey like a mini-game within this fabulous (yet graphics engine challenged) sim
  2. I noticed a "ground movement stutter", and would love some feedback. OXR is functioning equally in both Steam (my active setup) and Standalone versions. I did not run clean/repair on my existing Steam version (SkateZilla won't work here). But I see no difference jumping back and forth between the two. I suspect the reason is that I had absolutely no mods installed on my Steam version. In Caucasus/F18 free flight (my reference) internal DCS FPS is showing around 90 FPS (MSAA turned off). Cockpit is wonderfully clear and smooth. The only major issue as I mentioned, is when I'm at around 5k height or lower looking straight down at the ground, especially over buildings, there's a "ground movement stutter" for lack of better description. FPS holds nicely though. This goes away if I force MR (FPS expectedly drops to 45) - but clarity goes to hell and artifacts mess things up, especially in the cockpit. Is there a way to fix or smooth things out without MR? Or is that the price to be paid, for now? I did not yet install or tweaked OXR toolkit configuration. Setup: 9900k/3800ti. GPU "medium" overclocked via MSI Afterburner and stable. CPU at 4.8ghz. Thank you!
  3. I so wish I could say "of course it's enabled"! But no it wasn't Thank you!
  4. Hey folks. Followed OP instructions with a clean standalone (I normally use Steam license but decided to try it "clean" first). When running DCS it won't run in VR - in other words, I'm still seeing the portal through my G2 while the game runs on the desktop. I verified that the files are copied into the BIN folder etc. Thanks for your help! Salter.
  5. Thank you. I decided to try it first with a clean standalone. I followed the OP instructions but when I launch DCS it won't switch over to VR mode (through OpenXR). I must be doing something stupid but I never used DCS/VR outside of SVR . Any ideas?
  6. Right off the bat I noticed that OP instructions call for SkateZilla for DCS cleanup. SZ does not support Steam distribution DCS. Is it the case that I can't implement OXR as a Steam licensed application following the steps in OP? Is switching my license from Steam to ED my only option here? Thanks!
  7. Thanks everyone for your feedback! Ordered Virpil pedals (I admit I'm a bit of a Virpil fanboy)
  8. Thanks for the feedback! Do you have the Virpil collective per chance? And what are the best pedals out there, would you say?
  9. Hello folks. I have no experience flying helicopters in DCS (I did fly large RC helicopters years ago! :). To date I flew the F18 using Virpil's stick and throttle, both of which I love. I did not miss pedals for fixed wing flying. Now that I'll be simming with the Apache, I can only imagine pedals would make a difference. I was wondering what all of you folks think about it. Are pedals gonna make a substantial enough difference for ease of maneuvering and are definitely worth getting? And separately, but related I guess - is a dedicated collective "kinda nice to have" or "will be awesome to have"? Thanks in advance for any feedback.
  10. Hello folks. I reinstalled DCS for space allocation reasons. When firing it up again, my Virpil's throttle and stick mapping was gone. Luckily I backed them up a week or so ago, but a few recent changes were gone. A small problem, I realize. But is this "normal"? Cheers. Salter.
