  1. Hi fellow Pilots I'm back with a newbie-question. I startet actually to dive in the P-51D and I made baby-step-progress I can cold start taxi and takeoff and even land without to die ;-o the landings aren't beautiful and I usualy hop one or two times till I stay on the ground but nothing explodes and that's a win in my fresh DCS-book The reason I made this thread is, that I don't know how to operate my weapon-buttons who are all locatet behind the flightstick. I don't want to use active-pause because that's kind of cheating and I certainly don't want to move the stick to the side and fly a blind turn. so my question is, how do you operate buttons who are behind the flightstick? thanks for your help Loopan
  2. thank you for your help Rudel_chw! Knowing - thanks to your video - that it should function an spin the weels, I recalibrated my flightstick and assigned everything new and now it works like a charm. I love the DCS community, it's so helpful and patient with newbies like I'm one
  3. this may be a dumb question but I've to ask anyway. I assigned the pitch- and aileron-trim to a 4-way switch at my virpil flightstick but it seems not to do anything in flight. shouldn't I see the trimm-wheels move when I use that switch? because they don't.
  4. thank you sir, I'll try this!
  5. I was afraid, that this would be the answer but hey, thanks anyway. I can further train my patience by waiting for the 2.7 I'm glad you like switzerland. It's indeed a beautiful country. I, on the other hand, was not in the UK yet but I will one day, that's pretty sure.
  6. Hi fellow Pilots As the title shows, I'm just 1 month old in DCS-time. I startet on the stable server because I love smooth running systems. But I'm also not a very patient guy so it's bugging me, that I've to wait for the new eyecandy-cloud-stuff. I know I can't have it all but I would feel so much better if I would know how much longer I've to wait. ok, I know, that no one, not even the ED-crew can tell me exactly when 2.7 goes stable buuuut you guys have a lot of experience. So my question is, in your experience, how long does it normaly take for a big patch like 2.7 to go live? Are we rather looking at months or weeks? hehe, I'm impatient I know, but please help me out here thnx and you all have a great weekend and stay healthy greetings from far away (switzerland) Loopan
  7. Ah, it's a bit complicated but makes sense now. thanks a lot! now I also understand why I've got two versions of A-10 in my library and I wondered if I didn't see that I already had one
  8. Hi guys I'm new to DCS and so I'm not sure if this is normal behaviour in a sale. I just made an order in which I - besides others - bought tha A-10C II Tank Killer modul for about 55.99 USD The total amount of my order was 186.95 USD I then wanted to see, what I am going to spend my miles-money for. I was very surprised to see, that 5' after I bought the A-10C II, the same module now is listet for 19.99 USD. Now I felt a bit fooled so I wanted to ask you, if this is normal and I just had bad luck with the time of my order? greetings Thomas aka Loopan
  9. I guess we all know, that in the end I'll own all the helos (meaning in about 2-3 months) ;) Yes, I was hoping, there will be an easter sale but it seems that wont be the case. My problem is, that patience isn't my strong suit so it could well be, that I'll buy the most content before the next sale ;-o
  10. Thank you all so much for your help and recommendations! I considered all you were saying very carefully and..... bought both
  11. Hi all I'm new to the DCS-World and want to give a helicopter-module a try. I'm kinda sorting out what type of plane I want to full dive in first in DCS. I own FC3 and the FW-190 D9 as of right now. So I took babysteps in the Su-25 T and the Dora nine. I kind of liked both even when the FW-190 is quite difficult to handle for me. It took me numerous attempts to my first successful take-off and didn't manage to survive a landing yet. Now I want to see how a helicopter feels like in DCS. I narrowed it down to the Ka-50 or the Mi-8. What would you reccomend and why? Initially I would have chosen the Gazelle but then I read that something is wrong with the FM of it. Thanks for your reccomendations in advance! greetings Loopan
  12. ok, thank you guys a lot. You convinced me to change over to standalone and in a mather of fact I already did and was able to take the FC3 also to the standalone version w/o any problems. The main argument here was to support ED at fullest for their amazing work! I'm looking forward to all the new things I'll learn step by step
  13. Hi all I aksed this questions also in the steam forums but since there are mostly steam user (so I would guess) I also wanted to hear you standalone guys. I'm new in DCS but kind of hooked at first glance I'm 52 years old and grew up with Flightsimulations like "Tornado" "F16-Falcon" "Janes F15" and many more. Long story short, I came to stay! I ordered a Virpil Hotas (it will be here soon) to replace my T-1600 and I also bought a Track-IR wich I looove btw. Right now I only own the DCS Steam World and the FC3 also on steam. I just saw the pre sale video of the comming Mi-24P Hind and that got me thinking. Should I stay on steam with DCS or should I go standalone? Because I'm at the first steps on my DCS journey I want to make this decision now. But I can't really decide ;( and therefore need your help fellow pilots what are your arguments for the one or the other way to play this amazing sim? thanks a lot for your help in advance! greetings Loopan
