I have found the freeze due to having graphics settings slightly too high. Drop rate to 72hz , reduce from Godlike to Ultra, reduce PD in DCS in steps until you don't get the problem. I get the same issue in MSFS if I try and run higher settings associated with data transfer to the headset. It can be worse in some maps like afganistan.

I've had very similar results when reducing the refresh rate down to 72hz.  I noticed the sweet spot seems to be for my rig is 72hz in game FPS setting to 75.  I basically get 72 FPS in game with almost zero stutter.  Of course your mileage may very.  I tried upping the game to 100 FPS and it added stutters and forced ASW which I turned off.  Give it a try

  2. Ill have to try upping the FPS slider in game.  There is a very slight hicupp very but it's there.  My line of thinking was the not try and hammer the system to see if that would help and it seems quite the opposite.  Perhaps the capping creates problems with the pipeline.

  3. After the recent patch I had a ton of Shuttering and never understood the reason why.  In the latest patch 1214 it seems there is something going on with the FPS performance setting FPS in the game and the refresh rate of the headset.

Changed my refresh rate to 72 for Meta Quest 3 wired

Changed my FPS slider in game to 75 if I was on 70 it had a very consistent stutter,

Made a huge difference for whatever reason.

  4. I'll throw my two pennies in this thread, given my recent experience with the latest patch, version 2.9.8.1214 MT. This latest patch has reintroduced a ton of studdering compared to the last patch, which was running at a steady 70 FPS with very few hiccups. It's the same performance whether playing Multiplayer or stand-alone. I am getting around the same FPS but with constant stuttering.  I have played with Lasso with very little change, so until this is fixed, it's not that fun to fly at the moment.  I do hope they look at fixing this "improvement" sometime soon.

    1. The Recent Meta Update Breaks VR for DCS. Here is the fix. Meta has started to use OpenXR within the Meta App after this update which affects the Link Cable. So you go to the Open XR Tool Kit which I'm assuming you're using and check the disable checkbox. It will default to Meta. There is a catch in that the OpenXR Menu will not pop up and your headset settings will be defaulted to Auto. So go back to the headset settings with the Meta App and reset your preferences like Refresh and Scaling. IL2 and DCS are running fine.

  5. So you're saying for those who have already purchased the F5 F-86 and the Mig 15, we are getting different dumbed-down versions?  This doesn't make any sense. I get why they would add these planes to FC to make it more attractive to new players but to dumb them down would be a mistake.  Oh and I agree some improvements on the existing FC planes such as data link etc would really help in the MP arena.

  6. Okay so here is a TRK for you to review.  I was just simply flying around and when to Dogfight mode.  I selected TMS down which puts the Radar into vertical mode. I flew around and uncommanded it went to a no radar boresite mode.  I then select vertical again and this time on a few moments later it went back to a no radar boresite mode again.  I'm not touching the TMS at all.  I will attach the second file which is labeled Uncommanded you will see if I get into this no radar boresite I can't even get out of it.  It's somewhat intermittent.

Yes and here comes all the misconception from. Staying at the "low" 18 degrees per second is only if you are one of the dudes who think if you fly the perfect speed on a horizontal plane of motion, then you'll win with your "not" rate king F16.

If youre already on the deck, sure, youre out of options. Or at least you have less.

If you want, you can replay my track file against the mig 29 and watch in Tacview for how long and when I hit 21 degrees per second. Spoiler: Its when I dump the nose below the horizon and pull 9G. And luckily my pilot does not black out because g effects is off. So I have the 21 degrees for as long and when I needed them.

I would wish someone came up with a unclassified document that the FM of the DCS F16 is wrong and a sustainable 18 deg/sec is too little ( drag?). But until then we have to work with what we have. So forget about winning a fight by sticking to 450 kts and wait until you win a medal.

You are correct if you want to get the best rate out of the F-16 you need a slightly low nose attitude.  And yes G onset is a different discussion.

  8. Best Corner Speed in the Viper is 450 or so knots with a slightly low nose.  Currently you can't really sustain a 9G pull and it's very hard to modulate the throttle to get best corner speed.  ED knows about it and it was mentioned by Wags during a podcast they are working on tuning the F-16 and F-18.  It was also mentioned it also behaves strangely with certain configurations.  The F-18 is also getting tweaked.  C.W. Lemoine (former F-16 pilot) did a little testing a few days ago.

Wow, it's been the DGFT switch. It was somehow mapped to a 3-way switch on my Warthog throttle. I should have looked at the HUD, but somehow I was too confused... It's perfectly fine. 🙂

what did you do I'm having the same problem

FCR was working? Did you maybe forgot to turn on your master arm?

Thank you for the response.  So I did look up the 3 different modes for ECM and yes they only effect the Radar.  With master arm on it would not release the 120.  I will need to go through my HOTAS and see what is mapped.  It could be some things are double mapped but I don't see how I could have anything like weapons release double mapped to my Warthog Stick.  Can you also just send them pitbull with no radar lock like you can in the F-15?

  11. I think I'm missing something when I use the ECM pod. I have it turned on and clearly you have  NO Radar when ECM is running. But what I have run into is when I go to reengage after an exchange of Fox3s.  I go defensive and once clear.  ECM off TWS lock master arm on and I can't release the weapon. Yes I'm aware of the delay when holding the release button.  Am I missing something?

A tester has just discovered the Corsair RGB control software (iCue) can cause screen stuttering when playing DCS.

Can you please confirm you're not running iCue?

And in case you are, can you check if stuttering persists once iCue is closed?

I have the same issue as of today.  And yes I am running (iCue) .  It runs my fans on the water cooler as well.  I didn't notice any stuttering but then again I'm not loading heavy missions at the moment.  Running i9 9700K and 1080TI  32 GB ram

  13. You may want to wait on getting any Card at the moment. AMD has released their benchmarks not 3rd party. I do hope it gives Nvidia a hard time. It's good for us end users. Also consider Nvidia has always responded to AMD by coming out with Tis and Supers in the last go. There is a reason Nvidia blew off their next cards 3080 and such with larger memory.
