Need Idiots guide to DLSS4 implementation into DCS
kgb035 replied to kgb035's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thank you for this info. PC just finished backing up and a bit late to dive in to this lot now but I'll be taking a look tomorrow evening. -
I'm not exactly IT savvy so wondering if someone can go through a step by step guide as to how you try this DLSS 4 out in DCS. I've got the latest Nvidia driver and the Nvidia App. From what I read I need to add DCS to the games in the graphics section of the App, but how do I do that? Do I just click on the Eagle Dynamics Folder on my hard drive? Fear if I mess about blindly I'll screw things up? I have a 3090 card so interested to see if it improves performance. If it doesn't be good to know how to undo changes. On behalf of what I believe to be a significant number of folks who have very limited knowledge of what their PC/CPU/GPU is actually doing, thanks in advance for any help that can be provided

Had tracking issues also, had seen this thread but wasn't sure what DCS not using first thread meant or how you did that. This evening found a thread in MSFS forum where a chap suggested the Crystal Light was the opposite of the G2 (which I had been using) in terms of ambient lighting. Thought I'd give the suggestion a go, switched off room lighting so that the only illumination in and around the PC/Controls was the screen. Tracking worked perfectly! I use XRNS and have it set to amplify head movement right and left. With room lights on any right/left turn of the head moved me out of cockpit, once room lights were off, it to worked much much better.

My nVidia 3090 RTX with Pimax Crystal Light Settings
kgb035 replied to halfcard's topic in General Tutorials
Thanks for this thread HalfCard. I also have a3090 with AMD Ryzen 9 5900X - 12-Core 3.70GHz, 4.8GHz Turbo - 64MB L3 Cache Processor, Pro OC Compatible (No On-board Graphics)....whatever that all means got 64gb of RAM When I punched in your settings I got 90fps in an F18 free flight over Caucuses when at or above cloud level, when I dropped to the deck I was still getting mid to high 70's. i know this isnt an MP server but in all my messing about over past few days since getting the headset its the best I've had. I'm running FFR in Openxr Quad views, 90Hz upscaled, render is at Medium, grade is Balanced. When I ran this first the shimmy on the edge of the FFR zone was noticeable and distracting. I put Anti Aliasing back on DLAA and that seems to have tidied that up. I am struggling with the image sharpness, contrast and brightness, the Crystal light seems wishy washy when compared to the same flight in the G2 Great base line to start from though so thanks for the post -
Same for me in terms of everything else working fine. Very random in my case, happens in multiplayer when I'm in a fight, seems to be just the once in any session on a server but it can empty your ammo boxes pretty quickly.
-
I also have this exact same problem, only in spitty and very random. I've checked my Warthog with the control panel s/w all works fine, nothing sticking, press and release registered sharply.

Have you taken a look at Air Combat Tutorial Library on YouTube. www.youtube.com/@RequiemsACTL null

G2 reverb VR multithreading - virtually no improvement
kgb035 replied to JCTherik's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I get this also, with the odd random occasion when MT has booted. Not sure what is going on and nowhere near smart enough with computers/IT to be able to work it out -
Question running Reverb G2 in DCS
kgb035 replied to XAiracobraX's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Take a look at this site, there is also a discord. Thud's VR4DCS I have the G2 with an i9, 3090 card and 32G. Working through the recommendations on VR4DCS I managed top get the G2 working pretty well, but you'll still need to teak as you go. I think VR performance varies depending on the server and even the map you are in and I learned quite a bit about the upside and downside in terms of performance, of changes and tweaks that seem to be required. I've got a lot of my graphics settings at the high end and still get around 45fps in my Spitty on WW2 servers. Just getting into the F16 and same setting seem to be OK in term,s of FPS, but I need to sharpen cockpit detail a bit -
Me being stupid. All sorted and happily firing rockets and dropping bombs
-
Thanks for this Art-J. I'll go through your suggestions and see if it addresses. I hadn'r realised rockets on bombs were on different button, I though you could use just the one mapped button which released whichever ordnance was selected in the cockpit. I'll go take a look at that now.
-
Just wanted to add that rockets in the Mossie have been working fine for me until the recent DCS Open Beta update which i installed last night. Now I can load then flick the relevant switches but I cannot fire them as I could before using joystick button 2. I cleared the cell and remapped button 2 but still no joy. Tried a different joystick button assignment, still no joy. What I didnt do was see if joystick button 2 allowed me to release bombs. Will try tomorrow. Button 2 is working, I jumped in a Spitty and mustange and it works as mapped for cqannons and rockets.

Hi, Sorry if this is a pretty basic question but my IT skill are at best Basic. When I run DCS on the inital page when I go to controls the window for tweaking control bindings etc is really small, as is the SRS window and the normal ATC automated comms you get, top right. I've a 4K monitor set to 3840 x 2160 as recommended by Windows. Also although I have the setting selected for DCS to come up windowed, it comes up full screen. Have I a basic setting wrong somewhere? Hi Tony, I'm new to DCS, have just got a great spec computer and chose Reverb G2 VR as my headset. Had the usual HP error messages when setting up, loads of on line help to address those. Initially just had standalone DCS and didn't get it going in VR even with WMR. I signed up for DCS on Steam as well and downloaded Steam VR. Now I can play via Steam, (just select Play and select VR option), it all auto loads. If I want to play Standalone in VR, via WMR running in the headset, I select desktop and then select the standalone Shortcut on the desktop, It then utilises SteamVR to load your standalone version.

Hi, new to DCS, you might say this is my mid life crisis . Just got the spit at the moment, can sort of take off and sort of land...long as you don't want to use the aircraft again Air to Air gunnery in training ok, well they tend to fly straight and level. In a dogfight can get on the tail and stay on the tail of an ME or FW but struggling to shoot them down.....One of their mates tends to shoot my tail off well I'm still trying to kill the guy on my nose. No idea of radio or comms yet, not been on a server yet as don't think I'm good enough, the guys on the YouTube video's make it look so easy don't they? Going to keep practicing until I can take off, land and shoot something down somewhere in the middle.
