  1. I know this is a bit necro, but I did notice mission 2 vr performance tanked hard. Take off, form up, and ingress were fine/consistent with other missions in vr, but once over the target area, ESPECIALLY after the smoke rounds impacted, VR became a slide show. Didn't seem like a particularly unit intensive area but way worse performance when compared to the other recce missions.
  2. Ok, so I recognize I might get some shit for this, and that's perfectly valid, but this thing is 97 pages long and 2 years old. Frankly between that and the other VR related threads I've tried going thru I'm lost. Possibly because I'm some combination of new to dcs and vr/old/stupid/lazy, but I can't do anything about 3 of those 4. Is there by any chance a cliff notes version of this somewhere? I see a bunch of posts mentioning use OVsomething to manage mods and IC pass/non IC pass, will it work with insert here, install/uninstall. I honestly just don't really know where to start. If the answer is suck it up and read 97 pages of posts ok, fair enough, just thought I'd ask if there was an easier entry point here @speed-of-heat You are a steely-eyed rocket man sir, thank you! (edited to try to not add more bloat to this thread)
  3. Pard you and I are cut from the same cloth, so much that it's kinda scary. Good luck to ya, and if you ever wanna be terrible in the Spit together say howdy
  4. Are there any other maps that have two different versions? Did the Normandy and/or Channel map come with a 'modern version'?
  5. Thank you sir. Sorry if that was a dumb question, pretty new to DCS and spent most of my time so far just learning to fly, not deep diving into feature set. Edit: I was reading about your Mustang campaign and someone asked about the ability to open up a slot for coop. I believe you said that was done via ME and making Player = Client and another asset = Client as well (I understand like half of what I just typed but I think I can figure it out now that I know where to look). I ASSuME that would work with Big Show as well? Bought a buddy a Spit during one of the steam sales hoping to get him into DCS
  6. Now that I've gotten slightly less incompetent in a Spit (not getting out turned by an fw190...as much) I'd like to retry the first 3 missions but I really don't want to start the whole campaign over. Are the individual missions available to fly without affecting campaign progress?
  7. Howdy folks, not super good at this kinda stuff but figured I'd try to be less antisocial than I normally am. I go by grif or grifnizzle online. I've currently got Spit, P47, P51, F86, F5, and F16 modules, plus Normandy, Nevada, and Persian Gulf maps. Right now focusing on Spit, playing thru the Big Show campaign (not well, still new to this but my amateur aviation knowledge tells me I should be pretty ashamed for getting out turned in a Spit by an FW190 ). My sorta kinda plan is to go thru each module in sequence from warbirds to korea to (3rd gen? 2nd gen? not sure where F5 lands there) to modern'ish. I haven't logged a single hour of multiplayer yet, cause well I suck against AI so I imagine I'll be utter trash against humans, but I do want to start flying multiplayer. So, if anyone feels the desire to actually teach someone how to fly the Spit or any virtual squadrons recruiting and doesn't mind taking in someone with zero skill and an occaisionally acerbic sense of humor I'm your huckleberry
