  1. Just completed the mission today and I was a bit confused. It was mentioned several times that the ToT is crucial for the mission, however I did not know what the ToT was supposed to be. It was not mentioned in the kneeboard and there was no communication about it. It is mentioned once in the strike briefing but the info is no where else to be found. Would be great to mention the exact time more than once and to include it in the kneeboard. Another thing: The Comex signal was given at 11:49 and when I pushed at 11:50 as briefed, my flight was the last in line behind all others.
  2. Hello and happy new year! I am currently in the middle of the campaign and just finished Mission 5. It is super interesting to see how those trainings were structured and I already learned a lot about the MiG-21. One thing, that is a bit frustrating though is, that the AI ignores the hard deck completly. If I manage to get behind my enemy they just dive to the ground and the fight is terminated, when I hit 12.000ft. This might be a limitation with DCS or maybe it broke with some update, but it just feels unfair and unrealistic, especially when everything else in the campaign is so well done. Is there a way to fix this? If not you might want to think about offering the option to ignore the hard deck via the F-10 menu like 1. Offensive BFM 2. Offensive BFM (No Hard Deck) ...
  3. Hi, I just completed this mission today and wanted to let you know, that there are two minor issues with this one. 1. The AI takes off in the opposite direction than briefed. They start on runway 04. That was a bit confusing for me but I decided to also use 04 and thus triggered some radio messages in the wrong order. 2. The range of the Stingers seems to be much higher than expected. In TacView I could see that I was well beyond the indicated range, as where my wingman, but still I got fired upon and all of my wingman died because of the stingers. Seemed to me like the AI calculated with the same range that was shown in TacView but the actual range was maybe 30% longer. Otherwise an interesting mission! I really liked the challenge the weather posed in this mission
  4. I tried both: "Engage Bandits" and "Cover Me" - for me personally engage bandits seemed to work better, since with cover me the AI would sometimes just fly in formation way to long. Thank you for you response though
  5. I retried this mission 14 times before I skipped it. This is effectively a 1 vs 6 scenario since the AI wingman is not really contributing anything. The only way I see how you can win this is by luring the enemies into the SA6 that is south of the big lake. For me the SA-6 shot down 3 F-5 and 1 F-4. The other F-4 was RTB and I then died trying to kill the last F-5. For me it was also a very difficult environment since the dark lake makes it very hard to spot planes when you are higher than your target. So all in all a very frustrating mission, where I do not see a way to win it without using the SA-6 as cheat. Maybe if your name is Maverick Good luck to everyone trying this one!
  6. I encountered my first "bug" in this mission. A few minutes after Forge is under attack some MANPADs spawn and one of them has hit Davy He dropped all his remaining bombs and flew straight at level at 9000 feet until he hit a mountain. He then seemed to be stuck there and disappeared after a while. I only noticed that he was missing when Overlord and Ronnie responed to his messages, which I was unable to hear. I could finish the mission semi successful anyway - so no show stopper for me. I uploaded my TacView file so you can see what happened: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AsbZl0pfkuqpg4gdQ7gGSifUmlnrtQ?e=E2V6hI
  7. I don't want to start a separate topic for this so let me give a bit of feedback: This mission was a rollercoaster of emotions...I felt sick when the mission ended...so I continued my flight all the way back and even managed the beefy landing on a taxiway. What nice surprise Oh and yes - I do own Flight Simulator 2020 - so a quick 45 minutes trip without action is just what I like to do from time to time
  8. Hi everyone! I just completed the campaign and let me say - the last 3 missions are awesome! Just one thing was a bit weird. During the sequence in mission 14 the russian soldier did not hit anyone but missed completely for like 30 seconds. I was not sure what exactly should happen there until the next mission.
  9. FYI - I just completed this mission. I really liked it the first time. Waiting for something to happen and I would not have minded if there would not have been any action at all. But then I tried to refuel... Same issues as the other guys here. At my first attempt the Tanker just stopped to refuel me and left. Second attempt the same thing. Third attempt I skipped the refueling but DCS crashed. So here is what I did: I went to the "DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\campaigns\F-14A Fear the Bones Campaign" folder and copied the "FTB - 11b.miz" to "C:\Users\YourName\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Missions" then just launched that mission directly as mission in dcs. That way I was able to start in the air with full tanks and a great point to restart without flying for an hour. Everything you do here does not count towards your campaign so I had to skip the mission in the campaign but still got to see everything it offers Hope this might help anyone having issues or time constraints like me
  10. I am really not sure. I died 5 times during mission number 4 because my wingman seemed to do nothing while I was going defensive. Looked to me like he was trying to stay in formation to me So next time I tried to order him to engage bandits, but that did not help much. Then during landing he crashed into me. Coming from the Raven One Campaign where you are explicitly told not to give any commands, since it is heavily scripted, I am wondering what is expected of me in this campaign? Can I just forget about my wingmen and hope for the best or should I actively issue orders?
  11. I just finished the mission a few days ago and it was very frustrating at first. I just learned the basics of the F-14 and then struggled really hard with everything. Holding the radius and altitude, flying the CASE III approach. However...it was an excellent training And a rewarding experience. Unfortunately I crashed twice on the carrier because I trusted the ACLS...On my second manual attempt I managed to catch a wire.
