  1. It's working fine for me again also. It seems that if you delete the fxo and metashader files before you patch (which I do) it can cause desync issues on MP servers until all of the textures and shaders have been rebuilt in the game. I'm just glad I can blow sh*t up again!
  2. After many bombing runs I was able to figure out why the bombs weren't hitting their target. If I fly towards the target and DO NOT make any corrections with the reticle until after they have dropped, they hit every time. I know before the patch I could make corrections running in and it would still work. At least I know now.
  3. I don't have a track but I'll try to get one uploaded. I've been using GBU's since the module came out and never had a problem until after the latest patch. What is really confusing to me is that the bombs are missing the "basket" by quite a bit, up to 400 meters in some cases. I set the bomb table to target find, Mk82 and add the target altitude, release airspeed and altitude. When flying the bombing run, I'm using the true airspeed indicator not the indicated airspeed. My profile is within 20 kts plus or minus and 50 feet plus or minus. I'm doing this from the front seat so I have the half action, full action and challenge button bound to my HOTAS. My laser codes match the bombs and the pod is up and running when I begin. I fly towards the target, dip my nose enough to get the reticle on what I want to hit and press full action. Holding down the bomb release to get steering cues I keep the wings lined up like they are supposed to be until bomb release and then I am moving the reticle to keep it on target. When you ask for a track are you looking for a DCS track file or TACVIEW?
  4. For me the latest patch yesterday has made GBU's in the F-4E unusable. They worked fine yesterday morning, I installed patch 2.9.16.10523 and now the bombs will not track with the laser. I also noticed that even though I flew the numbers almost perfect, the bombs were landing 1/4 mile long. In the past I could use the pavespike even with dumb bombs as a poor man's CCRP method. I tested the GBU-12's on other airplanes and they worked as intended so I am guessing something with the F-4E's systems got janked.
  5. Worked fine this morning, installed the latest patch and now the bombs will not track the laser. Thank you!
  6. I'm a dumb*ss, I removed the collective to get to the arming switches not realizing that's where the button cover is. Thanks for the reply!
  7. Is there a way to make sure the button is uncovered short of wasting a flare? Thanks in advance!
  8. Hmmm, Heatblur did such a good job with the F-14 having Jester fly while you were in the back seat. I wonder why this wasn't implemented in the F-4? Future patch maybe?
  9. Based on your response I am led to believe you have been doing this for awhile. My post was mainly for beginners as an entry point to AAR. I still stand by the PDL's. If the F-4 is the only airframe you plan to tank, then lining up the canopy bow and relying on Jester to talk you in will work, however with the F-15 and F-16 IMHO you should get used to using the PDL's. Cheers!
  10. Having now tanked all of the airframes in DCS that can be tanked, I'll share some observations on my part. I am by no means an expert doing this and still struggle on some of the airframes (F-14, F1EE). The concept of AAR is is the same no matter which airframe you are flying but there are quirks for each one. Things that have helped me push through on the F-4 are: 1. Seat position. Bind the raise/lower seat if you can on your HOTAS. You will need this for AAR (lower) to see the PDL's and for landing (raise) to see over the nose 2. Throttles. Split throttles is the key for multiengine airframes. This allows finer adjustments when you are moving into position and makes holding position much easier. For the F-4 I use both to get into pre-contact position and then only 1 to move into contact position. If you are not constantly moving the throttle you will struggle with this. The movement measured at the top of the throttle handle is probably 1/2 of an inch plus or minus 3. Jester. Pay attention to Jester's callouts, he will give you direction before the PDL's move 4. Trim. Make sure when you are in precontact that you have the F-4 trimmed as close to neutral as you can get it. As you take on fuel the CG will slowly move rearward meaning you will have to trim nose down to compensate 5. Practice. This is an obvious one but it still very important. I find if I don't regularly practice AAR and go back to it I'm rusty. The very small stick and throttle movements required for AAR are quite different than normal flying 6. AAR mission. I have SP missions set up for the KC-135 and KC-135 MPRS that allow me to cover all of the airframes. To get used to MP servers I find that placing the tanker at 24,000 feet and 500 knots translates to most MP servers 7. First timers. If you have never tried AAR I strongly recommend that you practice formation flying first. Set up the tanker as stated above and just fly formation off the wingtip. As your skills develop, you can get closer and closer to the wingtip until you can hold position within 5 feet of the wingtip. At this point you can transition to the boom. I found this video years ago and was a game changer for me when I decided that I was going to try AAR I hope this helps!
  11. Problem fixed! You were correct. Wow, what a sense of accomplishment
  12. Hmmm, I don't think I ever lost contact but if it was for a millisecond that would explain it. I will try it again and if I'm not at 12,000 lbs I'll recycle the door and plug again. Thank you Zabuzard!
  13. Finally completed my first full AAR! Problem is my fuel gauge only indicated a little over 8,000 lbs. I had no external tanks on the airplane. Is there a switch I missed to transfer fuel to the wings? Thank you in advance for any assistance!
  14. Thanks! I guess I have to brush up on my math for computing QFE for targets
  15. I open a SP mission, remove the data cartridge, open the F10 map, place my markers (B1, B2, M3, L1) go back into the cockpit, open the kneeboard, select the cartridge with the marks I just made, insert cartridge and load the FP. The only point that shows up in the sign out sheet is the last point. All of the marks loaded and I can use them navigating. What am I missing to get all of the marks to populate in the sign out sheet? Thanks in advance!
  16. Finally got it to work by turning on the ICS. Thanks
  17. RWR is turned on, volumed knobs all the way up. I get the symbols on the TEWS but no audible tones or warning lights (SAM, AI). Maybe when the RB/ED debacle ends we won't have these issues. Thanks for the replies!
  18. The RWR on the F-15E is completely dead. Just flew on GS MP server, no sound and/or warning lights (AI, SAM)
  19. Did some testing and was finally able to make it work. Things that I discovered: 1. You can't be too close or too far, seems there is a sweet spot for range 2. Where you line up the shot in the HUD depends on the distance to target 3. Aspect to the target makes a big difference Based on the testing, I think I'll stick to a PAL lock for short range engagements. Thanks all!
  20. How did you line up the shot? Were you using the ADL or the aircraft reticle? Thanks!
  21. I can't this to work no matter what I try, the missile is not going active off the rail and will not track a target 2 miles in front of me. I've even jumped in the back seat and and set the missile options to "PH ACT". My understanding is you want the target aircraft lined up with the ADL. I've also tried with the target lined up with the aircraft reticle. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  22. Awesome, thank you! Just curious, why haven't you upgraded to Pimax Play 1.37?
  23. Hi all! Looking for feedback on user experience between using the integrated Pimax OpenXR in Pimax Play and using the standalone versions of Pimax XR and Quadviews companion. I noticed with the integrated version the image and FPS are not as good with the standalone. Since I am relatively new to VR, it may be a setting that I'm missing. I can run either way. Thank you in advance!
  24. Worked flawlessly, thank you! Cheers!
