OK, I understand. I tried with simple keyboard keys, and when I go fast, I notice the "stops". I'll report it.
It's 2025, and this bug still exits

Sadly, no. And the gain doesn't work well actually.
So I just turned the colored map off.

I dont know what we'll get, but i can tell you what can be the main improvement i would hope to get from this "additional MSI functions".
With proper MSI, all the tracks (red and green symbols you see on your Radar MSI overlay) will be tracks generated by any of the aircraft onboard sensors, mainly the radar & link 16, but also FLIR and RWR to some degree. This means that as long as you see these tracks, you can select them, get information from them, and cue your sensors to them.
For example, if you are on a TWS-Auto mode you can cycle through all the existing MSI tracks with your NWS button, and the radar will make its best to center the scan volume on the maximum number of exisitng tracks, but always including the selected one. This is critical as right now if you have a track selected lets say on the left of your scope, and new track appears on the right of your scope, you need to 1:un-select TWS auto and go to Manual, 2:TDC depress on the track on the right and 3:TWS-Auto again when your own radar detects it. As you may see this is completely inadeccate and inneficient flow for BVR fights.
In the same manner, you can have your radar on Silent mode and cycle through all available tracks, and only when you need to launch a amraam you can use your radar to go out of silence (there is even a quick look mode but i dont know if we'll get that). If you have your radar on silence and you select a existing Link 16 track you'll have a "NO RADAR" cue below the TD Box alerting you that your radar is not contributing to that track.
In summary, this would be massive to the way the hornet works in A2A, and the main cause of complaints of people saying that the F18 radar is difficult to manage compared to the F15/F16 radar.
Really? We are playing a difficult mode F18 now

I have been waiting for this feature for several years. I still don’t know what it can do specifically, but people often say that MSI is very powerful.
So what can we get in DCS?

M904E4 - mechanical nose fuse with safe separation arming delay and impact function delay settings.
M905 - direction reflection of the 904 but is a tail fuse
FMU-139 - electromechanical tail fuse with arming and function delay. Can be electronically armed in the jet as an instantanious detonation fuse, or use the function delay settings on the faceplate
All 3 of theses are ground crew set and cannot be changed in cockpit minus the caveat with the 139
Mk-339 mod 1 - mechanical time clock dispenser fuse that functions the dispenser based on time from release of the weapon. PRI and OPT are 2 different set of function timings
FMU-140 - Radar altimeter proximity dispener fuse that functions on AGL. Vt1 uses the rad-alt. Vt2 uses a backup time based function. Only accesible on the CBU-99
Both of these fuses are ground crew set. You can change with option to use in cockpit. But you cannot change the timings.
FMU-143 - electromechanical hard target tail fuse. Used for bunker penetration with a higher 75G impact force activation and (should) have a fixed 60ms function delay.
FMU-152 - Joint Programmable Fuse. This the only attachable fuse that is fully in cockpit programmable. But only with JDAM's. JPF page is accessd under JDAM DSPLY --> Mission --> JPF. Has arming and function delay settings. Will use the faceplate settings as default if unmodified.
DSU-33 - AGL airburst nose fuse for the mk-80 series warheads. Fixed 20m burst height.
This about as condensed of an explanation as i can make it. There are ton of nuances and caveats but this will get you started
Excuse me, is there still no fuze explanation document for DCS? The Bf109 fuze took me a lot of time to search for information before I could understand the role of each parameter.

I recently played around with all the features of F4E, and now I'm curious about what the DMAS version will have. I heard there will be CCIP, is this true?

Changing the laser code in the rearm/refuel window does not currently work in the F-4, as this feature is too new. Therefore HB could not implement it in time.
One could assume that it does not work this way in the ME either.
Changing the code on the ground via the crew chief works (I have successfully dropped bombs with the code 1678 several times).Btw, laser codes also cause problems in the F-15E.
I'll try it later, I think they should put those codes in kneeboard to let us check

Did you tell your crewchief to change the code also on the bomb itself? Also the bomb code must match your own laser code. You can change the bomb code from the rearm/refuel window too.
I edited the bomb's code in mission editor, and spawn in the air. I did it in the same way for F18, and works fine.
-
I've set the laser code of GBU-12 to 1677 in the mission editor, but it still only can be guided by 1688
In trk file, I used 1688 first and hit the target. Then I changed the code to 1677, the bomb wasn't been guided
I checked this in F18, it's fine. So it‘s a F4E problem

Hi,
no idea, i never changed somethuing there.
But what you think i have to select there ? Will try it then today and let you know the result.
Perhaps your mV didn't arm due to the short flying time, so the Vz worked, then you got a long fuze.

I recently went to play BOS's 109K4, and I accidentally found that the C101 switches in both games don't do the same thing.
The C101 switch in the DCS causes the dash to glow green. And the dash in BOS is already glowing green at night, and with the C101 switch on, the two UV lamps next to it will hit very brightly.
I tried turning the knob of the UV lamp in the DCS, but it didn't change at all.
C101 turned on in DCS
C101 turned off in BOS
C101 turned on in BOS

The last time I encountered this problem, I adjusted a setting option and the problem was solved. The rendering distance will have a great impact on SLAMER's image, but I forgot which setting option it is.
When the rendering distance is too close, SLAMER just can't see anything. -

Before DCS was updated to 2.9, this was an extremely simple task, because no one could intercept the bombs, you only needed to throw two Walleyes. But now many units can intercept bombs.
Fortunately, the 500lb bomb remains "stealth", and the Neustrashimy class frigate's radar has a very low intercept altitude for F18s (hope I didn't make a mistake in the mission editor), so you can throw a bunch of GBU-12s at high altitudes to sink it.
Of course, this only works against a single ship and requires long periods of laser guidance. If there are a large number of ships, it is impossible for a single player to deal with it. You need to bring several teammates to throw a lot of weapons to occupy the ship's fire control channel.-

I remember that in the past, CCIP could calculate correctly regardless of whether the bomb's parachute was activated or not, but now CCIP can only calculate the situation when the parachute is activated. This makes the Mk-82Y unable to be used as an low-drag bomb.

This problem still exists and it seriously affects my gaming experience. The labels I modified myself sometimes cover the entire left eye.
We need an official reply

Whenever someone asks me which aircraft a newbie should try first, I tell them to choose between the F16, F18, and JF17. But personally, I think it is definitely not wrong to choose F18. It currently has the largest variety of weapons (except for terminally sensitive bombs). And it allows you to experience aircraft carrier-related content, which is something other air force aircraft do not have.
It is no exaggeration to say that with F18 you can experience most of the content of DCS.
The Mirage 2000 in DCS is an aircraft from the late Cold War, so it is difficult to play its role in many PVE servers. The F15C only simulates a small part of the avionics and can only conduct air-to-air combat. Personally, they are not suitable for learning as a first aircraft. I think it would be better to choose one after you are completely familiar with a multi function aircraft.

Enhanced AI - especially with ground units.
With helicopters playing a greater role (and more to come), the standard AI is too predictable and boring.
I created a 'work around' script so that groups won't just 'move a little' and then sit there to be plucked off, but will either charge the position of the attacker, or otherwise try to outflank. It has created more of a challenge and improved experience for some, but as soon as people realise the logic, it's easy to overcome or exploit still and is basic in nature.
Having had a few players in 'Tac Command' slots on the other side on a server with combined arms has given me an experience of just how good DCS could be. Sneak attacks, retreat and reengaging at optimal times, sneaking ground forces around buildings, etc.
I don't expect AI to be upgraded. This is a flight simulator sandbox after all, and an Dynamic Campaign Engine is needed before any of this. But if you asked what I wish for. That would be it.
Agree, I hope the "dynamic campaign" could solve all those problems, it's too boaring for helis now

I dont want to be the guy who "complain" but the video made me feel more about a "How to set it" rathen that "what can it do".
So what can we send / receive ? Can we see eachother ? Do we have to ping ? He talk about "acknoledging" so the system must be doing the "seen / read" we are all use to.
And of course the most usefull stuff probably behind a "restricted barrier" and we surely wont have an E-8 JSTARS in DCS (even AI) anytime soon...
Be patient, mate
Check the description below the video

According to my experience, all DCS aircraft will be affected.
Mi-24P will have different feel under different altitude, temperature and load conditions. This feeling is especially obvious for hovering. At high altitudes, high temperatures, and high loads, you may not be able to hover normally and have to take off through the runway. -

I watched the Chuck's Guides and Grim Reapers' videos, and they both seem to be able to dispense with the weapon release button. I'm not sure if this is a fixed feature or a new bug
The EMCON Button

I happen to have a mission today that requires EMCON
Can't believe that after so many years, such a small feature has not been implemented
