  1. I must mention that it took a few attempts for me to get the A-A training mission to work. It seems that the mission takes your airspeed from the airspeed dial on the left dash rather than what is indicated on the HUD. As soon as I maintained the wanted speed by looking at that dial rather than the hud, the mission continued.
  2. Play the air-to-air tutorial. It really is rather good. Not only will it answer your question, but it also explains how to change the gun funnels to ones calibrated to various aircraft, how to use the TGP in a-a mode to help aim your a-a missiles and also how to use the IFFCC TEST mode to access menus to calibrate the a-a gun funnel and add your own aircraft profiles to it. Good stuff :)
  3. I absolutely love the DCS: A10 open beta so far - but there is one thing that I am struggling with, which is gunnery with the GAU-8. I acquire the target visually or with the TGP, and roll in for a gun run. Once I am lined up on target, I hold trigger stage 1 (P) to engage the PAC, before engaging the trigger second stage for a 2 second burst. Therein lies my problem. Every time I open fire with the main gun, the nose pitches up uncontrollably with the recoil - resulting in the first 40 or so rounds downrange hitting far past the intended target, which seems to me to be a bad thing - considering how accurate a pilot is meant to be with the GAU-8. Is there something I am missing here? I have tried gun runs diving from 5 degrees to 30 degrees at various speeds and still the recoil knocks me way off target, which is frustrating to say the least. The other, unrelated issue I am having, is that I never see the "Gun ready" light at the top of the left dash light up. Does this mean I am missing a crucial step in preparing for a gun run or is this just a bug? Thanks for any help :)
  4. I stuck the PDF on my iPod Touch so I end up reading a little in each lecture at university. If only I was as interested in Computational Game Theory than I am in the combat employment of precision munitions :pilotfly:
  5. Fantastic, thanks - I had made do with a hastily scrawled bit of paper taped to my desk.
