This sure wasn't the default USAF display routine.:music_whistling: IMHO this bird was piloted by the Boeing test crew and not USAF personnel.:joystick: Anybody with some more info on this? Grtz Rick

Does anybody know how to pass the recce mission in the Mig-21Bis campaign? Although I follow the waypoints perfectly at 41000m with the jammer on, I'm busted by the SA-10 every single time...

Just an observation from my side on the EDGE screenshots of the F-86F. First of all, the chrome bare metallic finish is extraordinary, beyond anything I've ever seen in a Flight Sim. But one thing catches my eye and that is the reflectivity of the painted areas, especially the yellow striping on the wings and fuselage. Currenly they are reflecting in the same way are the bare metallic parts. As these areas are painted, shouldn't they loose there reflectivity and have a more "flatt" look? When you compare the real life pictures with the screenshots you can easily spot the unnatural finish of the yellow areas in the sim. Any changes that this can/will be adjusted? Grtz Rick

Hi Wolfrider, The CPU is back to its default values but the problem remains. Does this help you out? -
DCS WORLD crashed at start - 0xc0000005 ERROR
Airsmetten replied to markymark45's topic in Game Crash
I have the same issue on my PC. I've also done all the above suggestions but without luck. -
Sorry for the radio questions, I've found that the problem was on my side, I didn't use the HOTAS Mic switch. Radio issues are solved now. I've just 1 more remark. It seems that the mission doesn't work in DCS World. A known issue? Greetings Rick

I've just tried this mission but I'm unable to talk to my wingmen. I've entered the correct freqs into both the UHF & VHF radios, I can hear my wingmen on the radio but they just don't listen to me. They don't follow a single order... Am I forgetting something? I'm not used to work with the realistic radios. Thanks Rick

Flight Qualifications Campaign
Airsmetten replied to Sabre-TLA's topic in A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification DLC
Hi Sabre, I keep on failing for my landings which is driving me crazy after a succesfull flight. Every time I touch down I'm being told that I missed the touchdown zone and I failed for the Q- requirements. Can you explain what the correct touchdown zone is or show it on a screenshot?:helpsmilie: I'm normally aiming for the big fat lines touching down just behind them but it seems to be no good. I've attached a screen with my touchdown marks. Greetings Rick -
Flight Qualifications Campaign
Airsmetten replied to Sabre-TLA's topic in A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification DLC
Hi Sabre, I also went out of the MOA zone as soon as I dropped the nose during BFT-06. To bad as everything else went fine. Greetz Rick -
Just completed this campain! I must say, now the problems are solved it's the best campain from the 3. Way more variety than in the other 2. I must say some missions are long but hey...real life isn't different I think. Good job!

No the options are not in the F10 menu. When the F10 page is available there is only 1 option in it and that is the "Request fighter support". Grtz Rick

I've used the adapted mission file created by Petekorn to complete the first mission. You can find the file in this topic : http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=69085&page=2 Greetings Rick

Hi guys, Up to now I've been able to comply every mission upto the recce mission. Problems I've encountered: Fighter support....hmmmm doing very little. Flew the mission on the deck 200ft, requested fighter support about 3 times and those Mig-29 still splashed me time after time...:music_whistling: Last time I was able to evade the Migs, found the tank convoy and completed the navigation:) but I couldn't enter my mission results with the F10 radio commands...damn frustrating after flying a 60min thrilling low level mission:doh:. Did I forget something or is the mission still broken after the latest patch? Thanks Rick

I've tried the new mission file. F-16's taxied out. Got the taxi clearance, wingmen followed but when I've killed all enemy units (didn't kill the pilot) the UH-60 kept on hovering above the downed pilot... Do you have to do something special to get the pilot in the helo? Thanks Rick
-
Have the same problem... Leaves me going out alone with my 2,3,4 & F-16's on the ground:music_whistling: And in the end the UH-60 keeps on hovering above the downed pilot without picking him up:doh: Hope they'll prepare a patch really soon! Greetz Rick

Hi guys, I don't get any instructions once the Su-27 has a lock on me. Is this training mission only programmed to this point and WIP? Thanks Rick

Hi guys. It seems the topic is back alive. As a jet engine inspector with CFMI I've received quite some training about the principles of the jet engine and the howl isn't "generated" by the engine inlet but by the compressor blades. The lenght of the inlet may have an influence on the volume of the sound but it is not the cause of the sound. Ruling it out by the lenght of the inlet of the A-10 is wrong. I was only trying to search of an example of the sound by mentioning the Hornet clip. To be sure we were talking about the same phenomenon. Interesting you mention the F-15 & F-16. None of them have the surge howl during their start up, the F-100 design doens't seems to generate it. You do hear a strange noise during their start up but thats the JFS disconnecting which is something completely different. Don't you guys have acces to the real A-10 world? Thanks for posting the A-10 start up clip Adam. Altough the sound quality isn't great and there is a lot of back ground noise you can clearly hear the howl comming through. Greetz Rick

I did a little search on Youtube when I returned home and it looks like the startup from the Hornet is pretty easy to find. I know we are talking about a totally different airplane for the moment but the Hornet has the same phenomenon altough not as much as the A-10 does. If you have a look at this clip Around 00:35 you can hear the sound that I was talking about. And you can hear it a second time when engine No.2 spools up at 01:40. The sound is actually created by smal compressor stalls during start up because the compressor is turning at a way to low RPM iaw its design. I'll keep searching for an A-10 vid. Greetings Rick

Engine surge is more the cause of the sound. I don't know if there is a real word for it but it's a very deep growling/buffeting noise that is present just after light up and it takes about 5 sec or so before its gone. The sound is also present during the start up of the Hornet. Maybe a start up movie from a Hornet is easier to find as a A-10 start up video. I'll check I've I can find an example when I'm back at home. Greetz Rick

Hi guys, I've seen the start up of the A-10 a few time in real life and you could hear the engine surge really good when the engine spooled up. Can't hear this typical A-10 sound in the sim. Any chance this will be added later on? Greetings Rick ------------------------- Win7 64 i7 860 Patriot 4Gb DDR3 1333Mhz Vapor-X HD 5870OC 1*24" --------------------------
