I have a similar problem. Have done all of the above with no joy. Plug stick in, lights flash then Device not recognized. the I have spoken to the supplier and it appears there is a prob with how W8.1 manages USB devices and he said a few guys have had similar probs. If W8 decides it doesn't like a particular device you can do what you like but it can't be got around. He also advised that MS are aware of the problem and that there is a 'Fixit' for it .. I just haven't found it yet. The one I did get from MS (and they email a link for the downlaod) tells me it is not applicable to my PC. Still working on it .. and yes the throttle is fine plugged into my other rig. Why or why did I try W8? ;D Gotta love MS. Tried REGEDIT to remove the appropriate key but same prob. Interstingly I can't access the key properties .. Access Denied. Has anyone seen the fixit tool? I found another from WindowsClub it it too says it is not for my OS.

I have a similar problem. After a few days away with PC shutdown I return and only see the lights on WH Throttle flash briefly and then get Windows message "USB Device Malfunctioned. Invalid Device Descriptor" Went through each of the steps enumerated by Capt Jack but still no joy. PC updated itself to Windows 8.1 a little while back (not happy about that either) but is theer anything else I can do? Cheers, Zap Maybe the throttle is just upset with me for using to fly BMS ;)

Not miniHUD rather the Data Block is what I have lost

With latest update I have lost the miniHUD in lower right of screen in the ground units and for some reason can't get it back. Can't see what gear you're in, relaod status etc. Anyone else?

What hope of a fix that we can apply so all aircraft work again? Zap

As a result fo now wanting two sim pits I do not have space for the large one. My pit has to go. It is just the assembled cockpit frames. It does not include controllers, monitors, PC etc. So: . Cheers, Zap

Hello, To facilitate LAN play I yesterday purchased another licence for A10C. I downloaded the module twice but both the FTP and Bittorrent version (A-10C_1.2.6.18651.276-275.exe) report they cannot be inserted in to the most recent version of DCS and that I need to download the latest version (A-10C_1.2.6.18933) Anyone else? Hmmm..... Zap

Looks like my children will be flying IL2 4.08 then as buying a whole set of Licences for them is too expensive. Thanks for your help Gents. Zap.

Hi Mods, Do I require a seperate purchase to run DCS on 2 seperate machines for LAN play? A read through the EULA makes no mention other than the software is for my personal use. Tks, Zap

It seems to be a problem with Helios.

Just a quick note of big THANKS to Y2kiah for all his work with the plans and metalnwood for cutting it out on his CNC Router and then being so patient with me as I struggle with 3D in my head to put it all together! :thumbup: Flew basic version of pit for first time yesterday and after 30 years of simming wish I had built a pit years ago, What a great bunch of enthusiast we have in our community. This worked for me. Just unbound my A10-C serial number as it was the only one shown as purchased with the second ED account and started DCS WOrld .. all good! Thansk All. Cheers, Zap

Invalid Serial Number bug I have similar problems to other posters here. I have bought all the products over the years and for various reasons I have two user accounts at DCS. I get the 'INVALID SERIAL NUMBER' when logging into the latest (1.2.0) install for MP. I am pretty sure I used only one account for the purchases but am not sure. It would appear that I didn't. So: On the PAYMENTS page for one account I can see the serials for CA, P51D and BS2 Upgrade On the PAYMENTS page for the other account I see nothing at all. There appears to be no record of my purchase of A10C nor pof Black Shark (the first version) I noted this thread and rather than go hacking about in the Registry and deleting 'Saved Games' etc I have entered a support ticket with a request to link all the serial numbers for the products to one account and now await a reply. It seems strange to me that there is a need for the purchasing account to be linked to the MP funcionality but if that is how ED want to do it then so be it but they must ensure that if I have paid for a product that I can use it. In anticipation of enjoying the latest fruits of DCS World! Zap!

Launch into MP game... all oK in cockpit for a minute or so then all I see is water and blocky text boxes. Similar to early days of IL2 4.09 and latest ATI drivers. In SP offline all is fine .. albeit a bit slow :D My system is a little old now: ATI RADEON HD3870 Quad Core blah blah
