  1. Attempting to download newest version of DCS, I received this message from my antivirus software: As a result, the download doesn’t continue, and I’m locked out of the game. Any thoughts on how to resolve?
  2. Was away from DCS for several weeks, decided to see if my Oculus 2 headset would work now in latest version (did they fix the Oculus VR bug?). I opened DCS, re-configured my graphic settings to be more VR friendly, then clicked the VR button, rebooted DCS and...disaster. DCS tries to load - I get as far as the new Nvidia DCS World splash screen...then nothing. It disappears. I know I can't be alone with this experience. Anyway, can anyone suggest how I can 'unclick' the VR button WITHOUT actually opening DCS since that is now impossible. Or are there other solutions I'm not thinking of? As you might infer from my description, I'm not especially tech savvy but I would love to get back into the sky. thanks in advance [CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH. Editing the lua in Saved Games did the trick. I'm back. Props to a great community.]
  3. Finally got my Buttkicker working, sort of. I have Main Audio Out set as (Speakers) Buttkicker Plus, and use Bose wireless headphones, as listed under the headphones heading. My chair shakes but I get NO audio in my headphones EXCEPT for radio communications from ATC, etc. Weird, no? Anybody have similar experience? Anybody think of a solution? appreciate any help. 4. Not very adept at PC stuff since I worked on Macs my whole career, but I love DCS and I thought iUFC was a pretty cool looking mod. I didn't have a Scripts folder when I opened up Saved Games/DCS Beta, so I created one. Just create new folder, then name it Scripts, correct? I then downloaded the export.lua using Notepad. This is how lame my knowledge is: so I attempt to copy what's in Notepad and paste it in my Scripts folder...but paste isn't an option. I don't know how to get the lua into my Scripts folder. I assume i'm missing something fundamentally simple -- if anyone could edify, I'd really appreciate it.
  5. I'm not sure if it's at ground level. Typically, I'll assign waypoints for my Hornet, placing a waypoint directly over the target. Perhaps this is where I've gone wrong.
  6. Is there a bug or am I doing something wrong in the Hornet? I designate Air to Ground and select a laser or GPS guided weapon. I turn on the FLIR (either pod) and make it SOI. I dial in the waypoint where I know bad guys are. I click weapons designate and immediately the pod slews into the sky instead of at the waypoint. Thoughts as to what I'm doing wrong?
  7. It worked! Can't thank you enough . Now to suss out how to configure for my Oculus Quest 2...
  8. Eureka! Sort of. I created the shortcut, but now I get an error. Any advice? null
  9. I just installed DCS World OpenBeta and I'm still not seeing an option to click "New" and "Shortcut" when I right click on the DCS.exe.
  10. Appreciate the response...I go into Program Files>Eagle Dynamics>DCS World>bin>DCS.exe -- right click on the .exe -- and get a menu of options including Open, run as Administrator, etc. So I left click on Properties, and get the DCS Properties menu as described above -- no option for ""Shortcut." I'm not running DCS Beta, just the standard. I'm flummoxed.
  11. Thanks for your quick response, Mordants. If I understand correctly, I need to modify the DCS.exe by typing in --force_enable_ VR ( etc.) My next obstacle is, I've opened DCS Properties and I have no tab that lets me modify the exe, no 'Shortcut' tab, just the following tabs: General Compatibility Digital Signatures Security Details Previous Versions Anybody have any thoughts as to how to proceed? Appreciate the help.
  12. Just downloaded OpenXR toolkit, clicked on the download, got the menu, a shortcut appears on the screen etc. I assume I've properly installed it, though I'm no whiz. I did change the on-screen hot keys to ctrl - left arrow, ctrl-down arrow, etc. I assumed from the instructions that the next thing I need to do is launch dcs, hit ctrl-down arrow, and the menu would appear in-game, then I would proceed to adjust settings. However, when I press ctrl-down arrow, nothing happens. No menu, nada. I'm guessing I've missed a fundamental step somewhere. Any guidance would be appreciated
  13. Hempstead, I can't thank you enough. Did I mention I feared it was something really basic? I didn't know I had to turn on VR in the actual game. D'oh! Much appreciated.
  14. Not especially tech savvy, but managed to connect my new Quest 2 to my PC -- at least it says I'm connected (out of desperation I bought the super expensive cable instead of using airlink). While wearing the headset I click on desktop, I see my desktop (literally, I see my curved screen with my icons on the screen.) Using my mouse, I click on the DCS icon. I get the splash screen - again, it's literally like I'm looking at my curved screen through a hazy filter. I click on INSTANT ACTION - choose (for example) Hornet River Run. The program loads...and my Quest 2 goes black. Any fixes you can offer would be greatly appreciated. I have a feeling out of my ignorance I'm missing something really basic.
