  1. I have had this setup with DOF H3 and Pimax Crystal Light for a year now and have some input: First I think it's very important to also get a motion compensation device if you are in VR. There are a few ways to do this, but I chose the Witmotion sensor that SRS (software vendor) recommends. Without the motion compensation you will get strange motions around inside the cockpit since the headset will pick up the headset moving around in the room in the real world while you are actually sitting relatively still in your cockpit seat in the virtual world. Some remarks on the OP input: >Maybe it was the tuning of the software, but both left me a little underwhelmed on the first try in each. It was less about the amount of roll, but more the speed of response. Neither felt truly natural, e.g. the squat you get under breaking whilst driving The speed and reaction is actually very fast/strong. This can and must be tuned. I experienced the whole rig jumping around on the floor when for example crashing because I had too high speed. There are many sliders for max angel, speed, boost, smoothing etc. and this needs to be tuned. (There are some example profiles to be found, but not many for DCS. Hopefully more people will have this setup over time and we will see more examples.) So I don't think you should be worried about the speed of the response. Of course it's electric motors and some inertia is unavoidable, but I have not experienced this as a problem. >Whilst I wasn't that impressed with either DOF unit whilst using a monitor, that impression changed when in VR, which I got to use with FS2020. I can't explain why, but when I was in VR, the feeling of immersion from the DOF was significantly more effective The combination of visual input in VR and physical input combined is very strong. A complete roll or loop won't feel totally realistic of course, but banking and pitching feels very real. Even though the banking angle of the rig is much less than in the VR world the combination makes it feel very real. Having a motion rig without VR don't make sense to me, at least not for flightsims. Below you see some of the parameters that can be tuned for the motion part. a27d24_39919c0801394f14b84b2ad3909056a7_mv2.avif
  2. >I could certainly see the potential if it was possible to improve the response speed Did you do any tweaking in the SRS software. The response speed is very good in my view if you pull the leavers all the way. In fact I had to dial it back several notches as I was nearly thrown out of the seat when crashing. A VR headset is a must, I don't think you will get the immersion with a flat screen.
  3. I have the DOF H3. I would say the benefit of the 3rd sensor is quite apparent when flying helis or when you are taxing on the ground. Also dogfights in WWII you often use the rudder actively. Not so much in air in a modern jet maybe. So go for 3. Wrgt the seat I purchased this as part of the package. Tweaking SRS (the software controlling the motion rig) takes some time. There are some examples to be found, but I wish there was more profiles examples shared. The biggest challenge for me has been the motion compensation setup. Without this things become very strange in VR. I got it to work fine earlier, but with a newer version I'm still pondering on the configuration.
  4. I this resolved? I have a hard time to locate the tanks in M8 and would like to enable labels for a few minutes, but it's impossible. I have not noticed this in other campaigns.
  5. Hi, Unfornatley I forgot to save a track and I disabled Tacview some time ago due to performance. Maybe time to enable it now that performance in DCS is much better in VR. Will make a track next time.
  6. I had a similar problem: After taking down the Syrian Mig's, lead starts to report "SAM launched" repeatedly. Suddenly she is gone from the SA/datalink and I did not hear anymore from her or any others. I assumed she was downed and returned to the boat and contacted Marshal myself. Landed ok and then got a debrief.
  7. Hi Sandman, Just completed M1 and M2 and I must say this is realy excellent so far. I loved the intro sequence, music and the voiced briefings. I also like flying as #4 despite the rather eratic AI behaviour. Makes a nice change from alway being lead. The judgement from lead in M1 was quite strict, but fair. Some ideas for improvements; Would be nice if the campaign automatically detected when you tuned to the right radio freq. And also it would be nice if you could, instead of pressing spacebar, you could flip a switch. Baltic Dragon implemented both these in his latest campaigns and it is very helpeful for the imersion and flow. Looking forward to continue with the campaign. Also enjoyed your excellent Sandworm campaign btw. Keep them coming!
  8. Hi, I talked to my optician and got the numbers for 1m focal distance and ordered lenses accordingly. This I can recommend. I also had aa lot of eye strain and headace before, but got it solved by adjusting the IPD offset in the settings. Also take a look at this video:
  9. Take a look at M9 as well. Similar issue there. And another small thing: In the briefing on M10 only the first 5 slides are available. On the kneeboard they are available once you are onboard, but nice to have them when you read through the mission briefing as well. Completed the campaign now and I really enjoyed it. Feels very realistic and it's an exciting story-line.
  10. I did the same (as you can read in an earlier comment). Like you say it was one module at a time so I then instead deleted most of the modules which triggered a full download of all deleted modules that took some time (a few hours?), but at least I was free to do some other stuff while waiting. Surprised that we are the only two who have had these problems. For me this only applied to aircrafts and campaigns. Terrains/maps was not a problem.
  11. Tried all, but none of that helped. Thanks anyway However: In the module manager (3x3 squers) i noticed that all the campaigns were marked for download so I did download them. This solved the campaigns. The aircrafts were however not suggested for download, but when I were able to request a download on the "Modules" tab. I could then download one module at the time and it seems this is solving the issue (so far only 3 moduls downloaded) Actually I thought that this was what slow repair kind of did... I transfered my complete DCS from an older computer recently. This worked fine for version 2.9.15.9599.1 from 5th May. For the versions after that it seems something have changed in how aircraft and campaign modules are authorized forcing me to download these again. Luckily the maps authorize as before.
  12. Hi, With both the two latest DCS versions I get authorization errors. My terrains authorize ok, but none of the aircraft's or campaigns. Version 2.9.15.9599.1 from 05.05.2025 and all previous have been ok. So far support has not been able to help so I hope someone here could maybe help. I have attached the logfile and overview of running processes. Anti/virus has been disabled for DCS folder and saved games folder. My date&clock is correct etc. I'm not using any mods at this time. Not sure what to do now... dcs.log process.txt
  13. Same problem here. No solution from support so far…
  14. I wonder if there is a small issue here: Base is set to be 5000 and lead gets ordered by ATC to Base + 10.000. He then flies at around 19.500. No big deal, just wondered if this is correct.
